Got a further question on Influence. This seems to be totally arbitrary. Sometimes a planet will have a huge sphere of influence lying out from it - as your homeworld typically does - and sometimes it will have virtually none. It doesn't seem to matter whether you have an embassy or not. In fact, I built two on one planet, but it was still inside my enemy's sphere of influence. I seem to have no way of changing it and it seems likely the planet will eventually defect? &n

Hi Folks, Just wondering if anyone knows the answers to my questions below: 1) Is 71% approval the magic number for growth you need to attain if you can't reach 100%? 2) Is this critical-to-growth number based on a planet-per-planet basis, or across all your planets? So it doesn't matter if one planet has 56% approval so long as the *overall* approval rating is higher than 71%? 3) Why does Earth always have such a *crap* approval rating? Any tips for ma
Hi Guys, I keep researching hull and armour technologies like Tri-strontium and Kavium (sp?) but when I check my ships, they show no points for armour. How does one get armour technologies to be incoporated in ship design? I've read the manual but don't find anything specific on this point. Thanks!
Want to say first of all I'm having a blast with this game - thanks Stardock! I'm playing against "intelligent"-level AI opponents. 1) The philosophy behind the game seems conceptually flawed. You start off being aware of all the other races in the galaxy even though you haven't yet begun exploring the galaxy. Surely a "first contact" scenario with each race would make more sense and be more realistic? 2) Thus the AI knows you exist before you have even come across
