I suspect no, just don't unlock techs with console commands.
Without cheating does a design get saved and shows up?
Go to the folder \Documents\My Games\GalCiv4\ In it is there a folder titled Designs? If yes, are there any files in it?
hello guys, a little question. is german allready out? installed it today with v1.01 and i dont have the option to choose german. If you have a savegame where this is reproducible it would help a lot if you uploaded it to a cloud service (DropBox, Google Drive, One Drive) and post a link here, so the developers can take a look at it. Savegames are located in \Documents\My Games\GalCiv4\Saves
As stated in the roadmap sandbox MP is planned to be added in 1.1, while survivor in 1.2. There no release dates announced for these two updates.

Maps are a little different now. For settings you have Starting Sector Size and Number of Sectors, the two are rather self-explanatory. Think of a sector like a GalCiv3 map. One maps with multiple sectors you can travel between them via subspace streams. To replicate a large map like in GC3 simply set Starting Sector Size to max and Number of Sectors to one. Make sure to keep an eye on Recommended System so your system can handle the map.
Are research items randomized? It seems I can only research the 4-5 options under 'Research Candidates' window. When I go to research navigator, I cannot research what I want, even if I had already researched the prerequisite. How can I say focus research on production?
This is how it works at the moment. You can choose to get a new set of items to research, but this will increase the research cost. This will be changed into the following in a future
Thank you for the savegame.
