Can I opt in to v3 beta?

If I followed this advice, it would be the last hour of GC3 that I played. I wouldn't be around to do anything else, either. 😉
The only explanation that comes to mind is that you somehow selected 2.33 in the Beta screen. To go back to 2.8 right click on GC3 in your Steam library, Properties, Betas tab and change to no beta.
I may have done that. I am still confused about 2.33 being in beta when a newer version is not. Anyway, thanks for your help and fast response, Richard
Steam just downloaded GalCiv 3 v2.33 to my computer. The problem is that I had Crusade 2.8 installed. So, the question is, "Why did it do that?"
Thanks! This will be a great help.
I think the suggestion of two Civs per CPU core is a bit conservative. I have an eight-core CPU and it easily handles more than that. With 16GB of RAM, however, it does tend to choke on ludicrous map sizes. (I plan to fix that problem with a 32GB upgrade next month. Man! RAM is expensive these days!) PS Please fix the "First Starbase" music. It is currently playing two tracks at the same time. It also happens to be one of my favorite pieces in the GalCiv music library. :
I would like to see an option to disable the Auto Upgrades on a galactic scale, rather than having to remember to turn it off for each planet. One Radio button in the game options would be perfect.
Doh! I am blind!! Sometimes I wonder about myself... Thanks, Rhonin!
I don't see an option to use a particular map. Am I blind? How do you do that? TIA
Hi, Have bought a new all-in-one computer, with pretty good specs(RX 580 graphics, AMD Ryzen 1400 processor). Surprised that there is a fair bit of fan noise when playing Gal civ 3, compared to other more graphic intensive games. I assume it's the amount of work the processor is doing? Is that the reason ? Thanks for any help.
Coincidence? I just installed the same card a few weeks a
That's nice, but completely ignored my question lol. I just want to know what colors it's supposed to be nowadays.
Sorry, Gauntlet! I didn't realize you wanted to know the actual color [e digicons]:|[/e] I didn't mean to sound snarky, Richard
Just to be clear... what color is the Fog of War supposed to be now with 2.8... because mine is super dark black... I know Frogboy says it was "fixed" is this what fixed is? Or did the full release of 2.8 revert to broken...
I really don't care what color FoW is expected to be in space. (I presume it would all look black). But on a game map, I just want it to be easy to see where I've been. No squinting needed. And now, it is, again
Hi SD! I just played a few turns in the new v2.8 and discovered a few things: Fix - Somebody fixed the Fog of War problem and I am immensely grateful for that. Thank you! I can see once again! Bug - No Tool Tips on Anomaly mouse-over anymore Bug - Distance Tool Tips is off by one (shows zero when within one turn, one when two turns away, and so on) Bug - First Starbase video clip - Audio is corrupted. Sounds like two
Agreed. Make FoW easily visible once again.
Yeah the FOW seemed to change during the weekend. Great luck on the Shipyard sponsoring! luceo non uro
Thanks, but the problem is that it is an exploitable bug. Abused properly, on a big map, you could set up six sponsors for many of your Shipyards. Maybe even more depending how badly this is broken (I've never tried for seven). Richard
Number 1: Fog of War Fog of War is hard to see. I don't know if it is due to a recent patch, or if I have messed with the settings: It is difficult to tell the difference and I'd like to know what I have done to mess this up, or if it has to do with an update. I even started a new game to see if it made a difference, but it did not.

You *do* gain bonuses by having 100% approval. Anything less than that and you do suffer small penalties. See the following comment by ops2048. Richard
Hi deadman1204, Happiness is striking a balance between current population and maximum population. In the early game, Colony ships will take some of your population which will increase happiness. This will also lower raw production a little bit. This can be offset by building factories. Later in the game, you can build improvements that will increase happiness. Although there are benefits to having 100% happiness, it is a difficult goal to maintain. I generally aim for 60% or
I gotta be honest, I actually thought this was a joke/parody topic when I first read it. I'm not saying typos belong in ANY game, but, "OONLESSS DEY LUK LEIKE THEESEE", then it deserves nowhere near the seriousness that the OP gave it. While Draginol is doing cool things with the AI, I spot a person complaining about whether it's "Breakdown", "Break-down", or "Break down", and he's........actually serious. I
Quoting admiralWillyWilber, reply 11 Im kinda seeing the point of the op. If we really look at this almost every book written would have the same problem. Most books get rewritten before you see them. This is also why we have a first, second, and third draft in english. Hi Frogboy, There is no good way for me to create a list while I'm playing the game. Is there a file somewhere that I could read/edit? I could then send you the corrections that way-- or post them here, whichever you prefer. I started a new game a couple days ago and by turn 30 I found several needed corrections (a couple were in the Bazaar text). An editable file would be of great help to me, and I'm happy to assist. Also, there are three bugs that come to mind:
If you see actual typos IN GAME please report them. We have cleaned up a lot of typos.
Hi Frogboy, I'll start a list, Richard
