Turns out that works, but this time I did click the "change settings that are currently unavailable" link first, whereas previously I didn't need to use that option. That fixed it, thanks.

I don't want to disable hibernation - I wqant to disable the power start10 menu item that has "hibernate" as an option in accordance with the Windows 10 setting to remove the option from the power menu. So to rephrase the bug: In Windows control panel, I turn off the option to see hibernate in the power menu. Start10 continues to show hibernate in the power menu.

the option in W10 only removes the menu item from the power menu, it doesn;t turn off hibernation (so the hiberfil.sys file is still present with that option unchecked). But I hope you saw my screenshot showing the hibernate menu still present. How did you get yours to disappear? I noptice you are also missing the sleep menu option.

Windows 10 has an option to remove hibernate from the power menu (so hibernate doesn't appear but the hibernate system still exists to support the fast startup feature). However, even with this option on, the start10 menu still has the hibernate menu choice. I note that turning hibernation off completely (using the powercfg tool, W10 no longer has a UI for this) does remove the hibernate option from start10. Any chance this can be fixed? <img src="https:
