Laurence, Update. Totally disregard. It turned out my external eSata drive was having issues. I unplugged the thing, turn it off then on...rebooted and the reboot took less than 5 seconds. MM on system and reboots are still fast. Sorry for the alarm...was going through app installs over the last several days, never thought to think hardware was causing the issue. Thanks for the quick reply!

Anyone experiencing slow Win8 boot times after install? Experienced something similar after installing Arcsoft Total Media Theater 6, which was just released and integrated with the Win8 Metro experience. The Arcsoft forum was hot on the subject. My boot time used to be around 6 seconds or so off an SSD, but now I stare at the BIOS screen for about 10 seconds followed by 15 seconds of the Win Flag screen. Wondering if I should uninstall and see if it improves. An
