Major Stress you have got to be kidding me! I just always assumed that you guys were programmers or somehow connected to the IT/Game/Art industry. That makes what you have accomplished even more amazing. How much help have Yarlen and his crew provided? If you get stuck can they point you in the right direction? And I've never thought I should feel apologetic for being a cheerleader. And I do find the uniform titillating. backs

I'm still betting on a Scooby Doo ending... Yes! Don Knotts in a mask! And he would have gotten away with it too if it wasn't for them darned kids... Backs out of the room slowly... [e digicons]*_*[/e] [e digicons]*_*[/e]
Got it for half price from Amazon. Laughing a lot when playing. I give it an A for fun. Not sure I'll be playing it a year from now but I hear they are going to introduce some DLC that could give it some legs. And yes the interface could use a little work. I've named my top soldiers after the X-Files and Starcraft pros. iNcontroL was my first heavy. GLHF :)
myfist0 thanks for the work, time and imagination you have put into this mod. I've said to everyone who will listen that this is the most wonderful Sins mod in existence. One of my favorite ways to play it is to save often and just wander around watching the game play. The models are great and it is so easy to get lost in it all... So thank you.
Go to youtube and search for thermal paste application. Several good ones show how the paste spreads based on the initial application. It's enlightening. For me the thermal paste was the "scariest" part of my first build. You really don't know how good a job you did until you run it for a while. Now that you are the Herald of Galactus fear no mortal!
I like playing Trinity to "feel" the differences. It's like watching Shatner for the feeling of nostalgia. nos·tal·gi·a (n -st l j , n -). n. 1. A bittersweet longing for things, persons, or situations of the past. Which is also why I like Sacrifice of Angels 2 so much. And I LOVE games that go on for days across
Without a doubt the best Star Trek mod is: (drum roll please) Sacrifice of Angels 2. The Borg will eventually destroy you if you let them tech/macro up. This is an awesome mod and I love it when I am mired in a balanced game that lasts for days across multiple star systems. Don't forget to make multiple saves so that you can hop around and enjoy the modeling work while your fleets are devastated. It's the waiting that is har
These privacy issues are like whack-a-mole. This cloud stuff should have the same protections as your private papers. They should only be searchable via court order with cause. My brother has always said, "It's better to ask for forgiveness than permission." My brother is an ***hole. So are the people that made this decision to violate our trust. Anyone who thinks they have nothing to fear if they have nothing to hide are already lost.
Maybe the AI became self aware and realized the futility of playing against other races with moving starbases? backs out of the room slowly... [e digicons]*_*[/e] [e digicons]*_*[/e]
I pre-purchased the game and was very disappointed with it when it launched; mostly because it kept crashing. But still, I waited and hoped, and waited some more. I feel bad for the people who worked late nights and subsisted on pizza and jolt for weeks on end to get this even this far. And for everyone else who put their trust in the "suits" who pushed for it's release before it was ready. RIP Legends of Pegasus </p
First, I'm staying up till 5 am to play Rebellion. Which makes me grumpy the next day until I can sit down to play again until 5 am. Second, I really think just publishing art work we can print and wrap around a suitable box will solve the problem. What format does Kinkos or some other national/international player work with? I remember years ago someone in our company taking Pagemaker files on a diskette (yes that long ago) to Kinkos and the printed full size pr
I truly wanted the box for my Sins shrine as well. Would it be possible to publish the art (that would have covered the box) as a download that we could take to Kinkos, print and make our own Collectors Edition box? We needs have... [e digicons]*_*[/e] [e digicons]*_*[/e]
This is just the first step. Next another awesome team of geeks (or nerds) will improve the storage density even further and produce a practical laser based reading system. Then they will move onto holographic storage in cubes of the material capable of storing all the information ever produced by human kind in a 4 by 4 inch cube. This will of course be perfect for the early quantum computing devices that become self aware as they seek to duplicate themselves and rule the un
It's a nice offer but unless the product is about to be abandoned I don't think they will release the code to the community. Maybe they could hire you to do an analysis of the feasibility. That would require ironclad confidentiallity and non-compete contracts.
One can hope...
It would not take long for such a system to get really good. It could play 24/7 against a copy of itself at greatly accelerated game speeds. Maybe it could play millions of games a day. Brute force techniques do work. It would eventually be able to throw perfectly executed build orders at you. As perfectly micro-ed ships danced around you. I for one welcome our new computer overlords. backs out of the forum slo
[quote who="sulley1" reply="166" id="3209189"] Quoting Yarlen, reply 158Skittles and I are working to secure some coupon deals for those who purchase CE's as an extra "thank you for your purchase and patience." These will be emailed once the CE orders are charged. Nice! This is why I love Stardock! You guys are always so good to your customers and help us in any way you can. Now I can get at least one friend to get Sins: Rebellion and we can blow up some alien butt t
Deciphering the downlink cool. Accidentley activating the self-destruct not cool.
I like every version of Sins. Vanilla and all. But once I played SOA 2 it was like nothing I ever experienced before. The Borg do not take "NO" for an answer. When you play a multi-star map and it goes to late game you know how Ryker from the other reality felt: http://www.chakoteya.net/nextgen/263.htm WESLEY: Captain, the shuttlecraft is under attack. <s
The game has been released. I downloaded and started. It has crashed during the first campaign. And they have already posted their first patch. They should have waited 4 more days for release I think. The graphics look nice so far. Fought a tutorial battle. I will have to get some more experience before I say anything else. Forget your Sins become a Legend? We'll see about that...
Quiet.... they take lunch money too! backs out of the room slowly... [e digicons]*_*[/e] [e digicons]*_*[/e]
I watched the vids. Visually it looks like it will be fun to watch. I hope the game play mechanics keep pace with the graphics.
Thanks harpo.
Don't anybody move... I'm going to make popcorn and read this thread again... That was an awesome read. So far I like Gal Civ 2 better than Endless Space. Though the interface in Endless Space is really pretty. Maybe it's like when you're little and you eat ice cream for the first time. Thereafter that's what ice cream tastes like and nothing else ever quite measures up. [e digicons][/
This irks me a bit. I'm happy Stardock is making more money by going digital but... as a collector I am a little annoyed. Perhaps the unsold copies will go onsale internationally. (I hope that big "PG" thing isn't actually on the box cover.) I ordered the collectors edition but I would like to sit this box next to it in the case. Anybody know how to get a copy from Australia? Maybe Nat from Community Channel will help me. Hmmm...
