I hate to bring up more Fences drama; however... I have been dying for an update to Fences to hopefully fix the "Program Files" window spawning issue. Well now a update is available, but it says the program is not compatiable with my OS which is Windows 2003. Obviously, prevous versions did not have an issue with my OS, so I am not sure why the update is being so restrictive now. If this meant that I would just have to live with the "Program Files" bug I would leave it at that

I have been reading through and I am not sure if this point has been made. I have no problem with Impulse. I think its use in Fences is a little concerning only because the original version did not and it was not listed or explained properly on the Fences page. My main issue is I exist in a location that blocks Impulse from a network level. I cannot make the choice: I can install but not update. If Stardock did not sell games, Impulse would probab

Thank you for the responses. The main machine which is affected and has the most impact on my life also has Impulse blocked at the network level. Will this be upated on the main exe or will there be a way to update without Impulse? I understand this is a beta, but from my prespective the original release of Fences was perfect.
This has been confirmed and fixed internally. Expect an update soon through Impulse to fix.
I hope this update is also provided as stand alone download. At least one of my PCs is at a location behind a firewall that specifically blocks Impulse so I cannot recieve updates. Impulse was such a bad idea.

I am having the same issue, but only on 2 of my 3 machines. The only difference is 1 of the working machines is only accessed via remote desktop and the other uses the fancy Welcome screen in XP, so locking is done via the screensave mostly. This issue will keep my from using Fences if not fixed. I also agree Impulse should not be bundled. I have always loved and trusted Stardock, but Impulse in general is a move in the wrong direction. &n

I have just recently upgraded to 99 when my previous beta expired. I have this on 3 machine, and 2 of them seem to work fine. However, on one of my machines everytime I lock the workstation and unlock it I have 2 or more Windows Explorer windows openned to Program Files. If I uninstall Fences it goes back to normal, so it is definately related. The old beta version did not have this issue. I am running Windows XP Pro on all machines. I really love Fences, but this is unusable. All pro
