Agreed. My first playthrough, I wound up quitting and uninstalling because I got to a point where I would have a unit that needed move orders, I'd move it, then wait to be able to move it again. Suddenly, a settlement would run out of build queue, and ask me to give it something to do. Immediately upon queueing up a new building, the research window would pop up, tearing my focus away from the settlement I was trying to queue a list of all available buildings for. After a few inst
Quoting Sanati, reply 3 Number one can be turned off in the options. It's auto-select next unit or whatever. That's what I thought, but no. Even with that option turned off, the camera still moves at the start of the turn to focus on the currently selected unit.
With Auto-Select Next Unit off, the game will still re-focus the camera on either the currently selected battlegroup O

I... think I've seen this in .75, but I don't remember. I'll have to wardec some more AIs and try to remember to make save files. I've also had this happen while fighting Morian, the Ruin of Summer. One battle instance against him spawned on a rather narrow map, putting him wayyy off grid, because his army of minions took up all the available space. I don't remember if that was in .51 or .75...

The game *should* pause when you access a menu, but the core issue here is that you have "Auto Turn" on in the options menu. Annoyed the crap out of me my first game, I literally uninstalled because it was unplayable that way. Then I figured out what turning the option off, did.

500 production is pennies compared to the benefit of +1 growth to a (typical) Fortress city. Even some Conclave cities will benefit heavily from +1 growth. Yes, it's not something you're going to want to build in the initial expansion phase (unless you're on Epic pacing, in which case you're often sitting there producing research or whatever instead of building actual things), but level 3/4/5 is when that extra growth really becomes relevant anyway (again, particularly for tra

I believe it's an issue with the grid not being mapped to the exact elevations of the terrain, which skews relative angles. You can somewhat mitigate this by altering camera angles to reduce the horizontal sheering factor.
Second, the rain of arrows animation takes forever to resolve. The first time I used it I thought the game had froze.
It's something to do with how the game processes the ability being centered on an empty tile. It's also inconsistent in screwing up that logic. I've already made a thread for it. https://forums.stardock.com/442378

I just noticed something, that I have to ask whether is intentional or not: Fortify and Armory bonuses from two different outposts appear to both apply to a unit in the area of influence of both outposts. They do *not* stack multiplicatively (the bonus from each outpost is exactly the same, and is the same bonus you'd get being in the radius of only one outpost).
Though, they may have changed this in LH - I stopped playing archers because it felt like cheating.
Refusing to use a legal gameplay advantage over some silly notion of "it feels like cheating" is nothing short of foolish. 9x6 stacks of horse-mounted archers with Rams' Horn Longbows, ho!

It's also getting more than a little annoying that the champion list doesn't seem to be particularly randomized. It feels like I could play several games in a row, and, as long as I could stack fame levels so everyone gets champs in the same order, the options would be exactly the same each time, assuming the choices were also the same each time. On a different note, in my current game I got a 400 fame champ at level 1. My average champ level at the time was around 8. What the

This has been glaring at me for a little bit, now. It's not terribly noticeable on low-move units, but becomes extremely obvious when roads or transport ships come into play. Unit visibility appears to only be calculated at a unit's destination - not along its route. So it is possible to have a unit wind up in a little square of light in a sea of darkness, and you have no idea what it went through to get there, unless you manually move it only a couple tiles at a time in order

Oh man, I got these in one game... Put Mana Shield on my Sovereign (with Procipinee's Crown, so no upkeep!) and went nuts.... also destroyed Morian with two castings on Mana Blast while the rest of my army dismantled his support. So fun = P Also, as to why stockpile that much mana? Repeatedly research Refined Arcana. Before too long, you've got several thousand mana stockpiled, and can soon use exp boost spell once a turn and not have your pool decrease at all = P

The "best" bow you can get through the shop is the Ignys Longbow, which is 9 phys, 6 fire, -4 init. So, yes, absolutely sodding horrible (30 total attack points difference, at level 17!) compared to the Lightning Longbow. So either the LL is horrifically OP, or the other bows are horrifically UP. That's why I'm saying the LL and RoA synergy is unbalanced, not RoA in and of itself.

Rain of Arrows is further broken in the fact that each of the 9 potential attacks can crit individually (they can also miss, but that's damn rare with my accuracy stat of 139). For sufficiently large enemy forces, I just take my Sovereign and my secondary Lightning Longbow archer in together and REALLY curb stomp things.

In my current game (playing as a custom faction based on Kingdom of Tarth), I got extremely lucky at the beginning of the game, although I didn't realize just how lucky at the time. Around level 3/4, I picked up a Lightning Longbow, a weapon with Lvl 4 req, 9 damage, -4 initiative, and +2 lightning damage per level (so total damage at minimum level is 17). My Sovereign is currently level 17, with an attack of 56: 34 from lightning, 9 base physical, 7 additional physical, a

I did that... let's see, on the land bridge, once I got there. Also in the 1-wide passage through that space occupied by several stacks of Obsidian Golems, and also down at the two-wide passage between the southern portion of the right side and the area delimited by the Golem area, the land bridge, and the southern area. Incidentally, all 3 times have been to block Pariden (while killing Gilden), who I only half crushed in order to take over the entire right side so I can amass unquantifi

Rain of Arrows is an Archer ability that functions like Fireball, in that it hits a 3x3 square. Also like Fireball, the center square does not have to be occupied. However, the game's code frequently has trouble figuring out what to do when the center square is not occupied. When I say 'trouble', I mean, 'doing nothing for up to 10 seconds, then working right'. -Issue seems to crop up most when target square is far away from attacking champion, but not always (some

Upgradeable weapons give my archers Ignys Longbows. However, I'm playing as Tarth, making Rams' Horn Longbows FAR better because of the armor piercing mechanic. The only way for me to get around this is to specify the RHL as weapon of choice for the unit - and the game still offers to let me upgrade the weapons!

Anywhere you can wrangle a choke point, just clog the pass with spearmen or militia (some low-cost three-stack unit). Unless they wardec you, the AI will not be able to go through that unit line. In my current game on, 'Athys,' I did that in three different spots as I expanded, setting up large guard forces of inexpensive troops to plug entryways into my territory.
