I get a 50ms ping to forums.sinsofasolarempire.com with no packets lost, however, I can only access these forums through forums.stardock.com because (like the OP) the wait time is ridiculous. I often get some varying large-text errors like Service is Too Busy and such as well. But through Stardock, it's as fast as any other site.

Instead of lashing out emotionally, the most constructive thing a person can do is to play the game as it is for now until they are able to patch. Exploit anything that's overpowered and gain an understanding of all the nuances that make it overpowered, and this will give insight into JUST how to make things better. You have a good list there of items that could be up for patching. Instead of making an argument from frustration, make a post with good reasoned arguments for the changes
But, as a note, I have never used or researched the Charged MIssile ability.
Same here. And I agree with the rest of your post. The first several times I tried Charged Missile, I noticed the same problems the OP did. Also, this would be even more of a disadvantage against a human player.
Diversity is great, but when one race is clearly better that's bad. (1) As I've said before, what is really imbalanced is the KNOWLEDGE gap between players. People simply don't understand how to... (2)
(1) Just to be clear, I don't disagree with you. My whole point about diversity being important was referring to the diversity of the good strategies available to choose from. One race being overpowered is clearly not in line with diversity of good strategies (s
I don't see why mass drivers in space would be such an issue. Even on earth, we have mass driving devices that have so much recoil that we need to engineer ways around them. High-powered sniper rifles are a good example. From my understanding, some of them are set up so that the recoil is channeled into a container of gas. When the force of the recoil hits this container, the gas is expelled (in whatever direction you like). The container can then be refilled. Rinse, repeat etc. A
Already, on other threads, you have self-glorified, « high-level competitive » players who are bragging, in the wake of version 1.03's recent release, about their optimal tricks to mathematically manipulate the alleged weaknesses of the new version, with the overt intention of going online to rapidly crush anybody who does not use their optimal series of mouse-clicks.I won't comment on the OP's proposals, since I have very little experience in online multiplay ... but I « warn » Ironclad
I've never posted on this forum before, but after seeing this thread, I felt the need to say something. There seems to be this argument between so-called 'casual' players (those who don't necessarily play at a high competitive play-to-win level [by their own choice and not by some deficiency]) and the competitive players. However, a lot of mud is getting slung around and the topic is getting shifted away from game balance into the territory of 'casual vs. competitive play.' I
