I'll give that a shot, thank you. Strangely the version for the non-test install is titled 'beta'. I restarted a new game with just the defaults set, so it's a much smaller game world and it's not crashing. I'll wait a while before attempting a huge game again. Thank you

Thank you for your reply. As shown in the image below, version = Beta_0.92.2832F1a, and set to auto update. is there a version other than this that I could download and use?

GalCiv 4 crashes at exactly the same step each time the game is started. Clicking 'next turn' crashes the game immediately - Playing on the largest map, with as many enemies AIs as possible, graphics are maxed out at 4k, Sound is disabled in the settings. - I tried uninstalling, purging, and re-installing the game as well as deleting the documents\my games\GalCiv4 folder - Game seems to be complaining about finding a file that's older than expected, and that's after a re-instal

hmm thanks, I'll give that a try [e digicons]:omg:[/e] *5 minutes later* - That worked.. Thank you.. installing DirectX Web install fixed the issue and all is good in the world [e digicons]:D[/e] the 1,2,3,4 thing is still there, but I'm all set.. have a nice weekend.. thanks again

When attempting to install Deskscapes on Windows 8 Pro + Media Pack I get the following: The install starts, and asks which folder to install to, I choose the default, and then get 4 dialog boxes in series (click ok and you get another). each dialog box is basically empty but is labeled (on the top bar of the box) "1" then "2" then "3" and finally "4".. after clicking ok on the 4th box, the install continues.
