1kg antimatter->Enough Energy to vaporise 50 million tons of steel. Should be enough to pop a little spacecraft... Anyway, what are the models doing so far?
Grottenolm85
You can run Windows on a mac, so not even that would be a problem...
Luckily at the current Euro/dollar-rate it wasn't that expensive :D
One of the first elements of the advent-tree is increased research rate...^^
I made a mod for myself with nearly endless T3-resource storages :D. Also a shield-mod because i love turtleing(What got more and more difficult with the upcoming patches, and impossible with FA...:-( ) Retrospective i played only my own mods the last few months. I fear i have to modify the next expansion even more to fit to my wishes as they take out all interesting tactics(The new air transports are a joke...)
Who the hell cares if it is a X2, X3, X4 or whatsoever? Wouldn't you buy a cheap Porsche only because theres a GM-sign on it? Some games you just cannot put in a box with RTS or X4 on it. How would you describe Black&white? RTS? Simulation? Eco-sim? petting zoo?
Im a professional, uh? I got 3Dmax from my university for free :-P I just saw the polygon-cont could be a little of a problem too. Legacy-models are way more detailed. But maybe the old ones from Bridge commander? Don't think that someone will cry after that old stuff... Maybe even the devs will give their blessing.
Hmm, na doesn't work. This numb program creates the user-folder anew on every startup...
Can you actually create a mods dir in the sins install folder instead? That'd be something at least.
You can create an mod folder in your sins folder but it woldn't be recognized by the program... BUT i think you can replace the C:windows/user..blabla.../Ironclad games folder with a link? shortcut? (don't know the English word used...) pointing to the folder you like(a not hidden would be nice for instance...)
Aren't there dozens of models from Star Trek: Legacy? Im not into 3D-modelling (yet) but anything you can open in 3Dsmax should be convertable to sins, right?
MORE STUFF!
Hmm upload one of your maps?
We need something like in supreme commander. Your commander blows up like nuke when he dies. So instead of quitting most people try to do as much damage as possible before they kick the bucket(at least in a teamgame). Maybe they should make the flagship like a nuke too. Would be much more fun to blow it up somewhere then :D
Because sadly i saw no file to change that behavior. I know its dump. Why are the civil researchers doing nothing while the military ones are working? Aren't there enough brains left?
Yes it's dumb, you're stupid as hell! ;-) Na seriously i had no idea what the problem was too until i found in the interface settings the topic "Team colours"(or something like that). Remove the check form the box, done! But i think you can select a new colour only in a new game. In you're /Windows folder is a file named colors.color . open it with a notepad an you can change your playercolor anytime you want.(Those are hex-color-codes, just google for it.)
Someday i'll remodel the ships to the shape of a stone, a paper and scissors. Unbalanced units get the shape of an well :-P
It would be real nice to know witch programming-language is behind all this. If you rally want to change something fundamental the changing database it not enough. As there are counters on nearly everything(numberofplanets 4, numberofconnections 7...) i would gess there's a counter for the max-ship-level too. But i fear its not accessible atm.
I am in a supcom community but i don't play online too often. To many pros, no real noobs(like me). To many rude assholes and much to many teamkillers(haha-funny!!). So mostly i used GPG to upload Mods for my friends :D
I never understood whats to problem of getting a "loss". Do they have such a poor self-confidence? Shure i don't need to watch my planets getting bombed if i have better things to to, but whats so difficult about surrendering?
I wanted star trek-like blue shields so i clanged the color of one of the skyboxes to bright-blue. But all ships have that color too. Not too bad though...
The whole concept is absurd if you think about it. If they want to conquer a planet you throw nuclear bombs on it like salt on the ice... Genocide as standard solution should be strangely enough, but the point is the Seraphim are enslaving humans to do their dirty work. So what does the TEC to fight for humanity? Right they are bombing billions of HUMAN slaves to dust. Brilliant idea! And against the Advent? "What the population has fallen under an foreign religion? Nuclear fire!" Thats even wor
A realistic spacecraft would be hideous and boring. Their wouldn't be any windows because windows tend to be deadly if you pass a star. Wouldn't be such a great idea to stand behind a window in a combat with laser-weapons too... They definitely wouldn't use projectile weapons. In order to hit an enemy ship over such vast distances the bullets would have to be incredible fast. Therefore you would have to accelerate them extremely. Actio=reactio ---> the spaceship accelerates in the other dire
Lol, in germany we call our neigbours the austrian "aussies" too :D
.... I don't like campaign modes myself. The "stories" may seem interesting to kids but for adults, they're more likely to be seen as silly sci-fi schlock. If i want a great story line, I'll watch Battlestar Galacttica on tv. Or, better yet, read an actual book....
Considering that most gamers are I doubt that games like Starcraft or Warcraft would have been such a hit without the thrilling story. A good story should
Whats the point of an introduction movie withot an campaign behind it? On every map every fraction starts with its home planet as if they are all fresh warp...eehm phase-cultures. Shouldn't the TEC occupy most of the quadrant with scattered forces and loyality-problems on its planets. Severely attacked by the Seraphim...sry, Vasari coming out of nowhere and stabbed by the suddenly appearing Advent(not that shocking if you consider the name...). I didn't know that there's no campaign (as
