You Americans can use Europe as an example. The price per gallon is around 10$ here, and there are already serious efforts made to find alternative energy sources. I guess the price will rise until the majority uses alternative fuel of any kind. from there the price will drop with rising efficiency or at least remains on the same level ,if the Energy-hunger of the world keeps growing. America is spoiled(cant think of a better word) with low energy prices for the last decades. There is also

First of all Battle.net cannot be the reason for the big success. I think you heavily overestimate the ratio of Online-players/Non-Online players. Today its only around 15% of all gamers! Back when Starcraft was released our internet connection was 4€/ an hour. No sane person would have wasted more than a couple of minutes a day online. So Starcraft was played by lets say ~90% only in Single Player! It was the whole concept of epic story, easy gameplay and mostly flawless design(starcr

Its a matter of taste. I haven't finished a single single player map in Sins because it bores the crap out of me after a couple of hours(and because its nearly unplayable slow when more than 1000 ships are in space). I enjoy only the first 1-2 Hours of every game, or multiplayer. I don't want a game like X3 thats that complex you should get a diploma when you finished it after 400 hours. Freelancer was pretty much the same but with a much simpler control and a decent storyline, and i loved

As a mod extract them in "C:\Dokuments and Settings\ \local settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Mods\ \Textures" Then activate the mod in game. Or without Mod: "..\ \Textures" (make sure to make a backup of the original ones. Don't know how this effects online-play) e.g: "C:\Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Textures"

Alcohol is much cheaper in Germany, 35 Pound wold be around 25 beers. Quite a lot for one evening :D The digital download is just fine. The shipping cost for the box is so high, i could print the manual 10 times on HQ-paper ,burn 3 DVDs and get a shiny box, to put it all together, instead... In the end the manual and the box is nothing but garbage for which i have to pay ;-)

Hmm, there is no Frigate with more than one weapon... May be you could try replacing one of the capital ships with your ship. May be there is a way to make a log-file while playing so you can see if there are any accumulating errors? I've read the whole blueprint of yours and couldn't make out an obvious error. But even one misplaced blanc is too much for Sins :(
In the beta i did some new voice for the TEC and abit for the Vasari. But was deleted as it seemed to have no interrest But here is a video made by aldarian where i made the Vasari voice http://www.gametrailers.com/player/usermovies/160052.html
Hm, Borg like Vasari. Much better :D I think they dont have necessarily to "say" anything at all. I was able to recognize the selected unit in starcraft too, and the Zerg weren't really "saying" anything. And i loved the selection

Would be quite easy if the moddings files were using a proper progrmming language... But atm you can only adjust how many asteroids there are in general and of each type. But if you set for example: Iceplanet max 4 asteroids , 0-1 Metal, 1-3 Crystal Volcanic max 4 -"- , 1-3 M, 0-1 C Colonizeable asteroid max 3 -"- , 0-2 M, 0-2 C Terran max 3 -"- , 1-2 M, 1-2 C You would have pretty much the chanc

I mostly leave a part of my fleet behind in order not to scare the eel like AI away :D In this game you can build ships at such an staggering rate, it makes normally more sense to defend a system to the last ship to by some time for the new fleet to gather. Especially in the defender position you normally have much shorter supply routes. i only withdraw high class Capital Ships on the last 2000Hp.
