My guess is that with release right around the corner they don't want to risk any changes to gameplay. The gold thing is something they can play around with and fine tune to the point where 50% of players are playing generals and 50% are playing assassins. Later on, after release, they can make more significant changes to the game to make minions more likely to be used. The nice thing about gold is that you can tweak it on the order of magnitude of a single gold. A

Hmm, maybe I'm in the wrong thread. :D There was another thread where that was the suggestions, looks like I just got it mixed up. None the less, the point still stands that unlocks (even balanced ones) leaves newer players with fewer options which means a disadvantage.
But, they wouldn't be good using their minions or idols. They'd still not use minions, they'd be better from using their money bonuses to buy items which make them better as pure assassin playing style.
I have to agree with this statement. Just giving generals more money will cause them to spend more money on assassin type gear, it won't encourage them to be more general like (ie: minions).

I've seen regular towers go for creeps before demigods. In fact, I exploit that fact when attacking them. I always let the creeps push into the tower first then I run in, swing a couple times, and run out before the creeps are all dead taking no damage in the process.

I was in a game that was 2 assassins + 1 General vs 2 generals and 1 assassin and the gameplay was completely different from the usual 3 assassin groups. A lot of teamwork was involved and all the fights were intense instead of the usual 5 second gank fest. I would say that if either team went pure assassins they would have lost, though I can't be sure on that. That being said, there is no reason to spend money on idols or gear that boosts your minions right now mainly bec

I was just in a great game and wanted to chat with the other team briefly about it (strategies, etc.) but as it is now the scoreboard covers up most of chat and you can't tell when people leave. So I was talking to one guy (which was hard since I could only read the last line typed 'cause of score screen) and I didn't know when they left so it's possible the end of my conversation was one-sided. It would be nice if a few things were different: 1) Score screen didn't over
The problem here is that you assume that specific items will make you better. They will not. All they do is bolster a specific build. The only time it would become a factor in above said equal skill is if both players attempted to use the exact same build and one had unlocked a specific item that was better for that specific build. Otherwise, all the player without the achievement has to do is use a slightly different build tailored to a different achievement it

I got the feeling that games against the AI didn't count towards experience in Pantheon. This was because my first bunch of games all were against the AI only and my experience never changed (stayed at 1000). Once I started playing players though my experience started changing. This means that your wins/losses doesn't necessarily correlate to your experience since the majority of your games don't count towards experience. I could be totally wrong on all this though,
When I unlock stuff I'm like Oh yeah, I just got a differnt shiny weapon to use.
Exactly. Give the player something shiney but not something that changes the game. Give them a new skin, new spell effects, non-combat pets, emotes, etc.

Yes, but you would lose to an equally skilled player who did have a favor item. In competative play it's not as much about what bracket you are in but where in that bracket you stand. If I'm a division B players (ie: I kind of suck) and I'm playing against other similarly skilled players it sucks if I lose because they had some non-skill advantage over me. I don't expect unlocks to make me a division A player but it levels the playing field with other players of my skill.<

I've never seen it "available" because they cast it every time it's cooled down. The only way it would be available would be if there was no one in range that had taken damage in which case there would be no need to heal. So, while it's possible that is the case there is no way I can think of to test it since they will always auto-heal faster than you can click (if it's not cooled down). If you are referring to locking them on to you, I tried that. I selected them an

If all they do is add a minor boost why not let everyone use all of them? There is no benefit from requiring players to grind favor to unlock items. Having them all available/unlocked from the start doesn't cause anyone any problems and not unlocking them does. I'm not disagreeing that favor items aren't terrbily powerful nor am I saying that they are hard to get. However, the original poster (and replies) are suggesting adding more powerful/expensive favor items. &n
