The suicide slot is also affected by the large amount of skirantra scramble bomber spam that happens now.
I think tyr was referring to this in part. Skirantras are whacky nuts with scramble bomber, heal, etc. Makes Halcyons look like paper thin hulls with slingshots for weapons.
Though I REALLY think they should make some fixed position random maps for the MP community
Definately. Judge Wopner is on at 3. Dirty's maps are fixed postition for
I logged on last night and it looked like the player counts were significantly lower than they were just a week before. It's possible that all of the problems ICO has had lately have been killing the game. It really makes you question whether you want to invest $10 on Diplomacy.
Plz give it a rest Dirty. Just take the blue pill, and see how far down the rabbit hole you can go.

Suggestion: In maps like this where there is ample opportunity for unmolested eco spots (since these are fixed position team maps with each team across from each other and no suicide spots), what about adding a worm hole on the other side of 2 equidistant pirate bases deep in each side? In other words, have the worm holes at the end of long single phase lanes from the star, and Pirate bases between the star and worm hole. This would add another mid-late game element of strategic i
When they say 'unrivalled scale' on the box, they arnt kidding. You not only get to play across a number of solar systems, but in a number of parallel universes as well.
It's actually the altnernate reality universe feature that has a trigger. If you're experiencing what seems like desyncs, you have obviously unlocked the special feature. The trigger is having an awsome game of unparralled proportions that you would hate to lose.

We all know who Blair is. That's the funny thing, after only a short while in a game and you start to notice how someone is playing, you know right away they aren't noob. Some people can point out who someone is just by how they play. And as much as I don't approve of smurfs like when you find out they are on opposing team, if you find out they are on your team it's ok. It's a double standard. I'm talking in general here. The only bad part is when trying to

Super Glue the Empire Tree into position. Make the Empire Tree staionary unless scrolled. Keep the Empire Tree from jumping when the mouse is over it so that you can reliably select targets. Have the Empire Tree automatically expand in depth when the mouse is over it. All of the Above. Edit: No. 4 Only when over the planet icons.
With Sins coming out with a second expansion and releasing the Trinity pack in stores, you should see the community grow. Even though it's been out for a while, it hasn't been given much exposure in terms of retail. (coming from mine and friend's across the continent's experience) So once it's out there and you can get it all in one go, I think people will start picking it up and trying it out. Mind you a vast majority won't stay because they'll be kids that don't want to us

Tonight @ approx. 8:33 CST ICO took another of it's man-sized dumps and flushed away all the (Diplomacy) mulitplayer games in progress. This is getting absurd. I am not a complainer, but I have to report that a very high level of frustration is being shared currently by all multiplayers. Desyncs, and minidumps, along with garden variety crashes are simply unacceptable. Please fix this ICO. You need dump files, you need packet/protocol transients? Tell us wh

Welcome to the community! Best suggestion I can give you is to get your game mechanics down (fleet composition, micromanagement, build order, etc.) and once you are comfortable take on successively harder & numerous ai opponents. Once you are confident that you can beat 5 Hard or 3 viscious, migrate to mutliplayer. Then, forget everything you learned in single player:) However, if you keep a good attitude, the MP community will take you in and show you the ropes.

I Personally love the encouragement to "go play diplomacy". Sends a strong message of support and unity. Dirty, your sensibilites are too sensitive if you are offended. I think you must have been on the rag last night :) I will say this: I've noticed a couple of things since playing my first few games of Diplomacy starting 2 nights ago, don't know if they are trends yet, but nonetheless, here goes: With
What makes you happy to see happen in your games?
In general, the most gratifying games are the ones where like Dirty is suggesting, you are unsure of the outcome even an hour or so into it. You know, the games that you can't tell who is winning, AND THEN your fears start to become reality, AND THEN your team catches a break like with a decisive win on one side of the map that ultimately turns the tide...AND THEN especially if it was your contribution through micr

gg, as it were, should signify more than a simple salutation offered when admitting a losing effort. It should not be offered unless all members of a team aggree to call it, number one, and two, it also should be returned out of respect by the winning players. At least this is how it has come to be known.

I think what is happening is the devs have covertly ninja'd a new version on us so you can play two different games from within the same instance. I think this is called the "altenate universe" mod. This obviously is in an effort to maximize the gameplay experience[e digicons]:P[/e]

In any event, wehat deciever said pretty much goes for me too:
Best thing you can do is quit, start your own game and catch the fallout from that one (people also quitting) then play another game without him.
A delay before start will accomplish nothing I'm afraid.
