haha! No kidding, game used to crawl, and I couldn't ever figure out how I was getting rushed so hard before I realized how to capture a roid with a lone colonizer :)
All that needs to be done is to just slightly nerf Scramble Bombers. Your proposal for nerfing it sounds reasonable in those regards. The other caps are fine as they are. If you want strikecraft, build a carrier cap--that's what makes them unique.
Wat he sed.
That was indeed the game Proto and thanks for the kind words. The truth is I can't accept the credit though b/c it was all due to MP's expert guidance. By myself, I lost 3 of my cap ships and almost cost us the game a few times before MP called it quits. But he was patient throughout. It's just strange how he then turned around and fired that parting salvo out of the blue. Still, I guess you're right about the why of it: I understand that kind of frustration since I play a lot of

Boulis777, If that was the game you were doubling Kre'fey with Massive Penis (I think it was), and you played competent enough to oust him from his HW and into refugee status. And, If you are talking about Massive Penis that was helping you, he was prolly acting like any other player that couldn't resist a parting shot. Don't take it so personal, players seem to have to blame someone, or the map, or pathing for cap ships, or something for contributing to their loss. It was m

There was a post about this, and I think the gist of it was that enemy trade systems are only vulnerable at neutral chokes or along phase routes that allowed for lying in wait with "raider" fleets. Because if you plant a raider fleet at an enemy held planet they will attack the structures if there are no other enemy ships in the grav well. Therefore you would have to micro your raiders to target individual trade ships and then to do this widespread might become a micro nightmare.&

More bombers. Forget fighters/flak. These are soft counters. Micro cycle push and/or shield restore. I can't speak specifically about other special Cap abilities mgmt. other than to say that trying to micro a Dunov at close range, or maneuver a Kortul in response to 2 or more Skirantras is a dicey proposition. It's hard enough trying to micro along with watching your other engagements and build/research orders to have to route Cap ships with close proximity specia
I agree about the jumping Empire Tree. It's really annoying, especially when large fleets are in the game.
And also because when the fleets are so massive you can't even sort out different ships in the fleet composition in a grav well without it, but you can't use it reliably because it's imitating wheels in a slot machine. Ding Ding Ding Ding!

JUMPING EMPIRE TREE ANYONE? IS IT REALLY THAT HARD TO MAKE THE THING STATIONARY? If it can be permanently affixed yet scrollable, not a moving target for which you have to deliberately overcompensate. Hard to stomach that this is not widely acknowledged as the most blatant flaw to the entire sins experience. Matter fact, this is worthy of a griff campaign of unparalleled proportions! Virtually pales in comparison to the Smurf issue, and yet no one seems to c

Not only will you see flawed tactics succumb to superior micro-mgmt skillz, you can dissect build orders and upgrade ramps. Also, if you watch a replay with a good eco player, not

"...they are lost to us!" Has no one wondered why the Advent were outcast in the first place? It's obvious to even the most casual observer. They were the Sex Traders! They developed the demand for sex as a powerful commodity and withheld it when necessary to escalate their positions of power. Even their ships embody thematically sexual overtones. Look at the Progenator! And how about some of their abilities - Malice!, and
Rationalisers are often more immune to irony than they are to therapy, though.
Comic relief is intended for those that can appreciate it. It has no therapeutic benefit other than a good laugh.
though I don't mean to imply that you need therapy yourself,
Actually, I am quite unbalanced and in need of sustained care.
Where do these players come from who want to rationalise every bug in the game,
Certainly, you're not referring to my comic slant as rationalizing. Obviously I am making light of rationalizing the bug.

Yes, thanks. It's been spelled out before, but this demonstrably clarifies the trade expense/pay-off time frame.
Exactly what trade represents is never really made clear in the game anyways, since it doesn't at all fit the model of comparative advantage that drives real-world trading activities.
Speculation abounds regarding the true nature of trade between the races, and the correlation to the lack of reliable antimatter reserves. Personally, I think there is a
