Good news... I've been working with the Stardock technical support guys and I have a solution which now works for me. I was pointed to the Stardock Central download application. This offers the opportunity to download pre-release versions of software for which a licence is held. The pre-release version of ObjectDock (v1.90 build 537U) does not suffer from the crash problem under Windows 2000. You're able to create a Stardock.net account here: https://www.stardock.

Sorry for the delay in replying. I'd already raised a ticket. But removing the directory doesn't have any effect on this issue. Andrew

I can add my name to the list of those with this issue. Under Win2000 with SP4, Object Dock Plus starts and runs just fine except that a crash error message appears on screen. When that error is closed, Object Dock Plus shuts down. Andrew
