Yes it appears to have be en affected I installed build 10586 v318 as purchased stand alone and using windows 7 menu the wndows 10 short cut does not work at all in Start 10 1.11

The answer at the moment seems to be to down load "installedcodec 1.30" which views the loaded codecs files in media player codec pack 4.4.1 for windows 10 and disable the following: 1) BDA MPEG Transport Information 2)Enhance Video Rendering 3) AVI Decompressor, one if not all three are the cause of the chargeable deskscapes file DesertRun Venono not loading with deskscapes 8.5 . This was a trial & error short term resolution

I have been using" media.player.codec.pack.v4.4.1.setup" to compensate for the lack on mpeg 2 on Windows 10 build 10586 ,164 and so have been using all deskscape animated wallpapers successfully . The above paid for animated wallpaper is the only one that will not run under this setup It will run with the codecs pack removed , but then none of the other animated files will run at all ! Please advise if an alternative codecs should be used before

The new Start 8 1.4 is ok but the option to allow the "hotspot" change to windows 8 menu when you point the mouse below the start button (in Start 8 menu ) seems to be available, but does not do anything in my system This worked in the previous version & was much better than accessing windows 8 menu via the windows keyboard key etc Please advise MY MISTAKE..... FOUND THE ANSWER

Hi Just reset desktop login by pressing windows icon+r ,when you have booted up, for run dialogue and type" netplwiz" (without exclamations marks ) and automate your login in by recording your password Win8.1 update causes this problem

Reinstalled 8.09 in Windows 8 compatibility mode.. now mostly works apart from a black screen for 2/3 seconds after deskscape selection No problem with desktop icons freezing.....!

No .. Only Start 8 , Blinds 8 & Modern Mix

after 4 hours of looking at this from different angles it seems deskscapes 8.09 does not run at all well in 8.1 RTM If I change to static wallpaper via Windows Personalise .. no problem If I use Deskscapes .. theres an instant blackscreen . Desktop icons "align to grid" function which is switched off works normally up to this point.. If I log off or reboot ,the deskcape screen appears normally but the icons on the desktop freeze & cannot be moved !</p

It was me ........ After a couple of reboots this seems to have resolved in Windows 8 skin

Please advise if this is me............. I have "white" backgrounds in other windows ,but transparent & cannot see My Computer and Recycle Bin contents when each drive is expanded

When Deskscapes 4 beta was originally reported to be issued in December, it was assumed that Stardock knew they could rewrite the software, now at the end of Jan ,I'm not too convinced Maybe this is a step too far (?)
