I gotta say that in this game the forum needs to be moderated pretty well. I dont advocate draconian measures, however, there should be key rules against posting derogatory remarks (excessive use of bad language) and keeping on topic. I think this community will be vastly different to SINS and GalCiv. It will be a shame to see the forum full of hostility and useless posts.

1v1 against sedna is pretty difficult, that said you can usually get away fairly easy too as Sedna has no snares or stuns. The best way to take a Sedna down is to go in 1v1, have your buddy waiting in the fog, let Sedna think they are winning and start chasing you down. Then have your friend jump in (Erebus is especially nasty for this). Only a stupid Sedna would fall for this multiple times if at all, but tbh for most games you will be lucky to get a couple of
Yeah it gets frustrating :p The game is still new though, I get the same with Left 4 Dead as well. You pop into some random group and one guy justs makes it one big messup for you. When the game starts going down hill i just use it as a time to experiment, try out some different items/skill combos...... This game does take a lot of patience tho, if I have only 30mins left I just switch it off, it takes about 90mins to just get one decent game.
I sometimes play Reg, this is a silly nerf request. At the time of the game (the beginning) when he is doing this, he does about 150 - 180 Dmg a shot. Thats 30-40 shots, assuming you don't upgrade the towers health. During this time, there are creeps coming, which will rip Reg apart if he tries to tank them. This tactic is not OP. It is part of what Reg can do, you only have to appear by the tower and Reg will run off. If anything I would vote that a towers range upgrade shoul
The biggest problem is that it takes so long to get a game, and just one bad player can bring a team down. I don't get mad at the player, I get pissed off with the game tho...... I am not the greatest player, but I have learnt now not to die or start fighting two DGs at a time. I have enough play with all the chars to play fairly competent at most of them. It is really frustrating when you spend 30mins looking for a game, get into it, then your partner or teammate is running k
Hey bune :) Yeah it is annoying when no one else is spending money on the citadel. I normally play as Reg or Sedna, and usually after buying a couple of minor items I save my money for the gold upgrade, so I can get it as soon as war rank 3 is reached. I don't normally get the exp increase, I should test with it more....
Reg in the early game, you can forget it, trying to hold a lane, the best bet is to conserve your mana and wait for the DG to go back to base. I use Reg to harass and to ninja flags when DGs move off. The best thing to aim for is to make sure you are always keeping at least one teammate in snipe range, so you can help them by sniping the dueller. Cataract is an easy example. Hopefully you have two good team mates, who can hold the creep lanes. Now as Reg you can keep the middl
In terms of EB, I think that his bite should have the snare removed, that is all. The problem is that if you go in against him, you either win or die, there is no escape, the snare is very strong early game. I think that is where people go wrong. I can skirmish against EB, even as Rook in the early game, but it is pointless going in full against him, because if you are getting beaten he will snare you with bite, strip your armour and kill you before you can run out. If he gets
Have you installed your wireless card drivers from the manufacturer and switched over to the manufacturers software. You HAVE to do this, or you will lose connection. After playing over the weekend, this has made a HUGE difference to my in game experience. Nearly every game is lag free, it doesn't affect the 30min hell of staring at the lobby screen to actually get into a game! :p
Bite is a little OP. Just had a game with two of us equal level Sednas(13), against one Erebus(14), 1 level above us. End result 1 dead Sedna and me running away licking my paws. Even with 1 set of creeps (with priests) on our side in the fight it was pretty impossible, to even get him in a sweat. That is a crazy result for 1 DG to output that much damage. He wasn´t equipped with any artifacts. I know playing as Sedna, I can hold off 2 DGs for a li
Hmmm, I guess it may just be a XP service, I don´t run Vista. Searched on google but brought nothing up, maybe they changed it.
I was doing some investigating into my connection earlier today, as I noticed most games I played would judder, get hit by lag spikes. I monitored my connection and saw I was getting a lag spike every minute like clockwork (1000ms ping+ for about a second). After some research, I discovered this was due to Windows polling for nearby wireless networks. I hadn´t noticed it in other games as this is the only P2P game I play at the mo, other games tend to smooth that kind of interference ou
1. When I play as Reg, I make sure the DG goes down. I am not aiming to Killsteal, I just want them 100% taken out. 2. I play a bit as Sedna, I find it annoying when people are running backwards and they are out of range of my heal. How do you expect to get healed if you are running away from me.
Yeah I would agree with that. Maybe like 10% gold for an AI kill, and AI's can only take 10% for their kills too. Getting an AI in a game 9 times out of 10 means gg...
and on a second point balance should be based on demigods, not "light" or "dark" If you play mainly pantheon and pantheon is set out to be the main aim of the game, then the big balance question will be how the sides match up. The arguments I have are a complete waste of time in custom, because there is a bigger picture and everyone has free choice of char. In Pantheon, it just seems that dark has some nice early skills that
After playing a bit this morning and looking through the chars, it seems that Dark Forces really have a big early game advantage over light. I am not sure if this is intended, however as a light player it seems an uphill struggle for the first 5 levels. You generally have to hope that you don't let dark get too far ahead, and once you are strong enough you can claw back the game. Just looking at the abilities and from playing the chars a bit, dark gets some real
I have been playing a few pantheon games, now that it seems to be working a lot better, as games always tend to be 2v2. However, one problem is that the big maps are still in the rotation. Can you adjust it so that 2v2 games are only played on up to 3v3 maps. I know the art design is lovely, but playing Fortress on Mandala in a 2v2 is not really that exciting for either side :)
If some of the problems are due to load, could you not just localise NAT facilitator servers into specific regions? This game although not as ping heavy as an FPS, is a little more ping reliant than a normal RTS, some abilities require precise timing. Could you not just regonalise the game, so have a US zone, a Euro zone and ASIA/AUS. However, have a NAT facilitator for each zone. It may help with the load issues, if the server population is split a little. Obviously p
The only problem is, that it delays the feeding and discourages early combat. No one will aim to take out a DG early game whatsoever. You will be happy letting them get fat on creeps, before you even consider attacking them. Also, I am not sure that allowing players some kind of catch-up mechanism in this game like this will really work. You should be able to turn around through skillful playing, not because someone is ganking a player and then gets killed once and releases a
I think the community in this game is OK. However, I have had a lot of people give me a hard time, because I am still learning. You just have to get used to that with any online game, usually just laugh at their idiocy is enough. It is quite a difficult game to master and requires team work. The silly thing is, is that the people who rage quit, tend not to be great players anyway. Generally with n00bs I like to give them a few tips. I hope the smaller community can develop, I
How come you didn't print the whole log of what you typed? How do you expect to go blasting someones company and not expect a comeback? Why don't you go and write netcode for a game, come back and tell us how simple it is?
Doesn't sound like a bug to me, sounds like you should be more careful where you use Mark of the Betrayer. Thanks for the tip :p
I guess part of the irony is, is that there are few people in this world who have never stole anything. I support companies like Stardock, but you have to be realistic and be aware that pirates exist. I think they have the right attitude, not to punish the honest customers with crazy restrictive systems. Most people will purchase products, if they are priced correctly and are of the right quality. Some people will always just steal.
As a new player, I gotta leave the comment that this is the most useless tip thread for new players I have ever seen. As a new player, the biggest tip is most probably not to play with this guy, or others like him.
Since buying the game a couple of days, I have managed to get into 3 games from about 30+ attempts. I have a T-Online, Germany 50mbit connection. I have forwarded all the relevant ports on my router, run no software firewall and generally disable most background tasks when I am running a game. Normally, I get the NAT Facilitator error about 70% of the time when trying to connect to a custom, skirmish or pantheon game. I occasionally get disconnections from the lobby that I get
