the love cannons are more powerful than any weapon the Vasari could muster
Yes, the love cannon I possess is quite powerful. It's located on the Care Bear 25th Anniversary Swarvoski that I gave to my kid.

That's gonna be one sorry piece of software that sits on a shelf to be discounted to $10. And forget about any game being retailed at that price, it just wouldn't be worth it to distribute anything for $10/unit.
When Galactic Civilizations III came out, people were considering the idea of having a real-time 4X game. Sometimes combining concepts to make a new concept works (creates synergy), and sometimes it doesn't.
Hey, where'd you get that one? I think I'd like to get that game GC3. Anyway, IMO 4X (very deep, layered strats) and multi-player go together like Hannah Montana and El Camino. RTS and multi is much more yummier (playable to completion online in under an hour

I have both, so it depends on my wants. If I want to carrier rush, I go to Sins, if I want to stuff military starbases up my opponent's wazoo (and go really fast at the same time), I go to GC2. I suspect sometime soon that both games will be merged into Galactic Sins of a Solar Civilization II, which will really be the best of all 4xRTS games.

You can please the casual crowd or you can please the competitive crowd, but you can't please both. You can please the "realism" crowd or you can please the play-balance crowd, but you can't please both. So why try?
Come to think of it, one thing we did have with those older board games, was that they all supported "multiplayer."
Yeah, but their single player support and AI was severely lacking!

This bodes poorly for you then. I can just see you in the future after another impulse buy... C'mon you have to be as good as Sins, you just have to. I know computer games can be innovative and done well. People are tired of the same rehashed junk, and developers really do listen! I bought you on a whim, and your packaging looked good, so you have to be good! Optimism crushed.
The Flagship issue is it makes your highest lvl capital ship your flagship.
It does? I've had fleets lead by a Cobalt, and it looked really strange for my Caps following this little dinky frigate.
The other day we played a 12 planet map i believe, had a little bit of and advantage in the start, but got a bit fucked when i had to jump back to my home planet to fend of some pirates
Games aren't decided only on fleet masses and microing. Somehow methinks your downfall wasn't coincidental to him launching the "final" attack. His reserves were nicely thought out as well. A TEC player can gain a huge monetary advantage and be able to lure pirates into causing (fatal)

Odd..In normal paced games I find myself with many periods of waiting for things to do after I've queued up my galatic orders. This is the time I usually take to refine my tactics and re-evaluate my strategies.
If they have hangars too I am going to have to ask: ...
boxox has a good point. To get all this planet infrastructure/tech/crystals in place to create such a defense, it will take time. Time/resources that are not used in expanding, ship spamming or investing in other techs (econ/mil boom types). I would venture to guess, that all the while a defense such as this is being put up, a good counter that could be created with the same amount of time/resources would be
Shame on mods for not removing this post for profanity.
Would be a shame if mods had to be our babysitters on this forum. The more mature of us should know how to react to flamers/OTs/profanities by not addressing the post at all. Those attention deprived will soon get the message, like a 2 year old throwing a tantrum. Back to topic: I am seeing a definite pattern of developing a begin-game strategy. Exploring other options that would cummulatively render this or

Perhaps he speaks of the TEC cargo ships. They can carry around newspapers, if so desired, and they also can be made bigger via tech tree. I guess he wants them for the Vasari and Advent too.

In the early game, I like the cobalts and colony ship...and the scout(s) too. Oh yeah, and the Kol, although I wonder about getting a Sova instead to XP up. The pure DPS from a Sova at a higher level is insane, combine with lvl 2 embargo and you are winning the battle just by entering an enemy well.
Bubble ships? Granted the Vasari are voiced by Cobra, but they don't have any trouble bubbles
It could have been worst, they could have been tribbles! Bad kryo, letting me continue to hijack this thread. :NOTSURE:

Production times are halved for the results you are getting. I was quite suprised the first time I did that, expecting one ship to come out of each factory, and seeing 2 pop out of one instead. But for my intent and purpose, the process functioned just as how I expected.
How the hell do developers put up with this?
Most do by not reading any related forums :) Takes a very special developer to do otherwise, I know. I'm not one of them!
What makes me wonder though, is they move things like AI on to other threads, and people have less cores, would they be playing a different game?
GalCivII has a nifty little option of letting AI use more processing power that lets owners of more powerful CPUs go through extra routines. Still, the other owners don't get shafted with a "dumb" AI experience.

So this explains how my TEC fleet half a galaxy away from the nearest ship yard was "procreating"! As I ctrl-# my fleet, I would see a bunch of unselected ships, and wonder if my ships were going through a process of meiosis to self replicate. Trying to figure this out, I was getting so AgroStitch
