I saw the thread title and I just knew if was written by BK:) I don't have an opinion on the subject but I wish you good luck in your teleport crusade. And this kind of dedication while pursuing certain goals in the real life[e digicons][/e]

Well. I think you should start your own game magazine... NOT. This is not a good idea. I will take 2mil credits and distribute it in 500 categories. Will it be better? And how can this help the devs? Blantly pointing thge bugs or 'improve first' areas are IMHO lot more.. substantial. I appreciate the time you spent but that's just not working. And this is mine scor for EWoM: 75 What does it means? Dunno - this is the score I've got in the last game and I also don't have t
I'm little puzzled with the 'commuting' stuff. I think that's unrealistic that all specialists come from capital. I'm for local resources for the sake of realism. But of course there have to be some simplicity because of gameplay. Anyway, as most of us I'm also waiting for 1.1:)

Should. But don't expect fireworks.
I second that and not only. I miss the Conan like heroes. The twisted old hags. Punk-like thugs and MadMaxish wearing patched jackets survivors kind. A champions that'll have some personality, likes/dislikes and of course cool avatar pictures:) Not another whats-his-name food+20 guys.
That's weird. I think the SimCity4 is quite simple and I's say there are too few factors to manage. But even now, with dozens of customs lots it's visually astonishing despite of course of its artificiality. What I look in city simulator would be richness of modded SC4, more flexible environment allowing creating of the 'real' cities, real and accurate height maps from all around the world, combined with real troubles and decision making of city planner and the mayor. And th
If it's dumbed down SimCity then why not play SimCity4? What are the advantages of Cities XL?
Avatar is shown in the posts written after you upload the picture. That's uncommon:)
After hiring Kael my hopes for 1.1 diminished a little. If the 1.1 will be released in October it won't contain Kael's work. So I guess now I'm waiting for 1.2. With a little more diversity and lots of new content:) Although the Kael's role is not completely clear. E.g. can he introduce some major idea that could change the core aspects of the game?... dunno.
* Turn off auto-design feature * At unit design add check "Add this design to starships... oops units database" ... and I guess that will solve all the mess we are having right now.
The messages alone are not silly. The silliness is that it happens every X turns and usually is sent by a few factions. Example. I'm in a war with F1. Every X turns F2 tells me to attack F3 and immediately F3 wants me to attack F2. Another thing. When I try to make the faction in the war I need to spend some gildars and/or diplomatic capital. But when they want me to get involved they don't offer me anything.
Hey Freebird. If you spent 50$ already you might as well sit here with us and wait what the EWoM will become. Download an update when it'll be available and play few turns. I hope that some day you'll say 'Damn it's good I've waited'... or you can try to get a refund.
Great job. I've tried it and have fun playing the map.
Thank you guys for the appreciation. That's really encouraging. If this is helpful in any means I'm glad. CapitanMal: Checked it right now. The link is still working.
I really don't know if that's the direction that the devs would go but I agree with the OP. Adding of some 'flavor' elements in unit design would add a lot. 1) Different armor/shield/cape textures with al kind of heraldic/fantasy symbols - with colours sliders obligatory:) 2) Custom elements (just like in GalCiv2). To add some spikes, banners and similar, resize and/or rotate them. 3) Different body types: fat, skinny, muscular, tall, short.
How about food being the local resource. Building cities is easy because of global food abundance. If the food was local we'll have the big cities, filled with population around fertile land and much smaller outposts. How to provide the outpost with food? That's a tricky one. Basically we can't use caravans cause they are defenceless and there are too micromanagement involved...

I made a little log about one whole game running on patch 1.09 map: tiny, difficulty: normal This report contains the main events of the game and is filled with issues / suggestions mostly about UI. Thing were writen right when I played and had it 'fresh' in mind. That was real alt+tab test for the game:) I've included some screenshots and saves for every 100 turns (game ended at T403). During the game I've got 2 CTD and one OOM error. <a
I've checked the T96 save and indeed it works?! Now with autosave 1) Choose Harvesting 2) Watch the caravan getting destroyed 3) Choose Imperium technology branch 4) Right click Varga (it will autoresolve because of threshold I guess) 5) Hit EndTurn... BAM!
It seems that 1.09 is not lucky for me. I started a game log trying to respont to Frogboy's request 'Send us saves and we'll know how you play' stated in other thread. I've managed to get to turn 96 and stumbled on solid, replicable CTD. The diary, debug, dump and save available here P.S. Any english speakers out there. Please accept my apology for what I did with
It happend to me in 1.08 after massive AltTabbing (ircing:)). Save/load didn't help. Need to exit and start the game over.
Maybe you've plopped the hut in really early game when no enemy city is founded yet?
I think that is possible right now but it's glitchy, the building list changes but the map doesn't.. or the other way.
That's nice. Late game city building and economy needs refinement. And the cities are developing linear. The global resources pool decides that always the first founded city will be the biggest in the end:/ I wonder what solution will it be. I hope it'll beat the Civ standards:D
