Ill try to address some things in PINK below.. 1. performance. Could be your system. I play only insane and have 60 FPS to end game which is often 650+ turns. What are your computer specs? Your video card to me seems to be the weak link. How much ram is onboard that 660? Rest of rig looks good! You should get an SSD and mount the game there, much faster!</spa

Below are my few notes about the game. ANNOYANCES 1. performance. When I was on 8GB game was unplayable after some turns. Right now even with medium maps and handfull of AI 2nd half of the game I played with about 10 FPS. Game takes over 10GB of RAM and I guess still swapping - HDD is hearable. Every zoom in from strategic map is noticeable freeze. I turned off some graphics goodies but I don't think the GPU is to blame. Even at the beginning of the game the re
Known since Beta 2 (and maybe earlier). Work-around: Manually delete the project, then re-add it, and it will "forget" its Rushed buggy state. It's a game mechanism that evidently hasn't gotten any dev time, as they prioritize bigger fish.
Thanks. I know the workaround. Didn't know it's such long standing issue.
I think no take over of such planet should be possible. Sure you can bomb it to shreds but without technology you can't use the remains of the colony.
Didn't have a chance to play with opt in patch. In Beta 4 when I survey anomaly that is rushing random planet improvement the queue gets locked (no auto updates from tech) if the planet were producing ongoing project. Planet list display [Name of the project](Rushed) forever.
I think there will be option to rename planet (if is not right now). IMO that's a good idea too hook up certain "random" events to real situation in the colony. It demands job from the writers but idea is good.
I think flymar knows about the logistics point. He's reporting that he can't stack them even when he's got enough points to stack the ships.
This:)
I've had base 9 points and tried to merge 2 and 3 ships (3 pointers). There are values in info box. I guess it's rather "I'm out of MP and I'm on autopilot" kind of things.
The devs already said that they will add a "build nothing" option for the shipyard queue. Despite that, I don't know what is the better option: build a project like research or wealth, or set the production wheel in the govern screen to zero for the manufactoring but then you have to remember this planet because it will not automatically update your improvements.
It will. After researching improvements they
* When I got to about 5000 cr and started buying transports their price wasn't deducted. I did about 10 ships that way and stopped. Later it was workin OK but later:) again I got free ship upgrades. * When you have lots of planets sponsoring a shipyard the tooltip info gets flicker (different planet names are overlapping). * Planet interface without arrows showing adjacent bonuses feels less intuitive * Territory bonuses worked better for me when they were ava
Couldn't get this nice background to work:)
About p2 of the OP. I don't think that adding fighters and anti fighter weapons would make a big difference. It seems to me that it's just another set of weapon/armour. IMO to add something fresh to the space battles idea I guess the manoeuvres would be the nice thing. Something similar to what Endless Space tried to do with cards. But for me in ES it feels disconnected. I remember long time ago I played a story driven 4x space game called Reunion. And the battle viewe
While I couldn't call myself hardcore GC fan I've decided to join the development process. After few plays I have some feedback: I have some issues with performance. Changing the windows sometimes take 5-10 seconds (it's a rare thing but it happens). Starport-->Starmap, Planet-->Starmap. * At beginning the animation is choppy but once it "settles" it's pretty smooth. Later in game I fought the starmap chopping by zooming in and wait
Saving ship as template makes it available in future games, when you research technologies needed for the ship components. At least it was working like that in GC2
Interesting. Most of the time I don't hear the click but the music is turned down for a moment which sounds weird.
Good news that the universe is expanding:) So this one is Steam only and not installing/updating with Stardock Central?
particular with the issue (intentional? I hope not...) where a full stack of 9 units is unable to move through a city if any units are stationed there already
Good find. I was asking myself why the army is taking long way around
Voted Good. * nice animation change. Apart * early exploration is the phase I like best and it's quite pleasant * I've seen more items with different effects but I guess there should be even more. Goodie huts gave me 5 +1 Initiative amulets:/ * Good idea about leaving the improvement placement. I can give my cities unique look. * great move with spells showing real damage on tactical. I think the game has big replayability potentia
Quoting Pbhead, reply 1 what is this? The software is free and what it does is optimizes your computer by shutting down different processes to help play a intensive game....
I have it and in my case it shows 44% of performance improvement but I can see none it FPS wise.
All is nice but right now I think the major gripes are: * UI issues * Performance How many times my armies were standing for seasons because even with auto switching they were left behind? Why when entering battle game switches to another army? Wtere did the mine was destroyed? These may sound trivial but all that little things create the image of the game.
Well If comes to UI I wish for proper event queuing and "zoom to event", icons at armies in strategic map (so I didn't have to switch to cloth) and shard number info in Tactical:D I find first two quite crucial.
I voted yes but it depends on * the DLC content * price
In the terrain window, the icon is a check box, you can toggle it on and off there and see the land numbers full time. Looks so nice...but GW2, D3 and other expenses hit my budget too much for another purchase...or maybe...
I just voted. I voted good previously, and now I voted fair. I'll explain why.
Exactly the same feeling ant the same vote. Previous beta was so much better then EWoM so it was enough for 'Good'. Now there's kind of reality check.
