I have XP Pro SP2.... and it would not work. I installed the SP3 and it works great my PC runs faster. I believe from this experince it has to do with the Kernel! and not the bios.
I could NOT get BOOTSKIN to work on SP2 well guess what... Microsoft UNOFFICALLY released SERVICE PACK 3 for XP!!!!!!!!! I installed it and then installed BOOTSKIN and it WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep in mind however if you have another BOOTSKIN installed REMOVE IT FIRST BEFORE TRYING TO INSTALL SP3.... Otherwise you will get an error. I found out this my self.
