Fixed Windows XP Pro SP2 Bootskin issue

Fixed Windows XP Pro SP2 Bootskin issue

I could NOT get BOOTSKIN to work on SP2 well guess what... Microsoft UNOFFICALLY released SERVICE PACK 3 for XP!!!!!!!!!

I installed it and then installed BOOTSKIN and it WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Keep in mind however if you have another BOOTSKIN installed REMOVE IT FIRST BEFORE TRYING TO INSTALL SP3.... Otherwise you will get an error. I found out this my self. Once installed then install BOOTSKIN. Here is the link. Feel free to email me with WAY TO GO!!!

Well, for one thing I haven't had any problems running bootskins on my XP Home SP2 computer for the last 4 or so years.

I'm not sure what SP3 would have in it that would change bootskins running. Stardock has always says that it will depend on your bios if bootskin will work or not. Probably why there are three versions of it.

As far as downloading SP3 now, that's pretty much like running a beta program. Some of the folks running Vista and the early release of SP1 have had problems, some, not all. You may not have any problems running the SP3 release, I think I'll wait until the official release of it.

I have XP Pro SP2.... and it would not work.

I installed the SP3 and it works great my PC runs faster.

I believe from this experince it has to do with the Kernel! and not the bios.

this would have been an awesome solution to my problem unfortunatly your link takes me no where but a microsoft "generic index" of resourses. and i have never heard of SP3...maybe i should get all the optional .net and other updates for my puter since i cannot get bootskin to work at all. for more info on my problems see my post in the bootskin forum.

I did want to do a follow up to this though for when testing begins with SP3. Which version of Bootskin are you running?
