I think I'll be seeing about getting myself a Radeon HD4850 come end of the summer--should prove significantly faster than the overclocked nVidia 8500GT I have now. Not the best card in the world, that, but assuming the engine isn't drastically slower than it was... :P Plus, I trust Stardock's ability to make things they publish work well on a wide range of hardware. I'm not sure how much optimization can be done with the SupCom engine, but I'm sure some of it will happen. >.>

1. 'Assassin' and 'general' just describe playstyles. There'll be a bunch that fall under each, and possibly some that blur the lines, according to the interview on GameSpot. 2. There'll be a post here when it's too late, and additionally there should be several phases--you can enter at any one of the phases with a preorder at the right time.
Now I remember where I've heard All-Father before:
The First Age of the World began when four mighty Gods first appeared upon the face of the World. These ancient Gods, still worshipped to this day, were the All-Father and his three Companions: Thurin the Shaper, Kenaryn the Hunter, and Malog the Warrior.
Shadowbane lore! I like it as a god name.
Looks like I'm in, too.
Just saw the trailer. ...I'm convinced. :P
So. Some of you might recognize me from the Sins community, and I'll put my money on nobody from the Supreme Commander community recognizing me. I enjoyed both, though, and I consider Stardock and Gas Powered trustworthy companies when it comes to quality. I just can't quite bring myself to hit the preorder button, though (probably because I've never played DotA, and thus I don't really have a feel for what that/this kind of game is actually like). That brings us to this post--nudge me in
I have one, but it was dropped recently, and the power supply is no longer uninterruptable.
Honestly, I think this is a fairly cool bug. Why not give colony ships an additional 'construct mine' ability for 250cr and leave scuttling the way it is?
I avoid gameplay mods that aren't total conversions as a general rule--the only one I've ever come across that has enhanced the original game is Tabletop Roundup for Dawn of War, and that's only because the balance issues are overshadowed by the over-the-topness. I'm thinking of grabbing one of the enhanced effects mods (Bailknight's videos are fantastically pretty), though, but I suppose I'll wait until 1.1 for that. What can I say? I'm not very mod happy.
You know, in my most recent game with 1.05 I've noticed the whisper slowdown as well.
2. 'Pin' puts the selected thing onto the empire tree, or takes it off it it's already there. Default settings pin pretty much everything, though. 4. It can help. As TEC, there are two technologies that are absolutely essential: trade ports and Javelis LRM frigates. Trade ports because the TEC endgame is a combination of a wonderful superweapon and outproduction of enemies, and LRM frigates because those will end up being the backbone of your fleet. 5. For your initial expansio
There are only eight science fiction settings in the entire universe, it's just the names are changed. True story.
Falcon 3.0. I'd have to assume I wasn't playing on especially high realism, given that the game was released when I was two, and I don't think I was playing it much later than '95 or '96.
PLANETSIDE. The only MMOFPS ever created (maybe Huxley will also be this). When it first came out, I had a tear in my eye due to the utter epicness of the battles. Hundreds of soldiers in the air, on the ground, in vehicles, and assaulting via airdrop against defenders of bases scattered on multiple continents. I say "when it first came out", because although it still exists, its just a shadow of its former self.
I miss Planetside so badly. I went back and played a li
1. The longer the chain, the higher your overall trade income. 2. Not entirely sure. With a port at every planet, though, your chain won't be as long as it could. Consider: ------ A | ------ B Where each line is a link on your trade route. The chain from A to B gets shorter if you build trade ports anywhere else. 3. More trade ports per planet == more income at that planet.
In addition, for now Firefox 3 is unsupported by Stardock.
We're not extinct. We're just hiding. I don't have nearly enough free time to play much Sins right now. Expect to see me a little more come the end of the summer, trying to develop my online chops a bit.
Carriers have 2-3 squadrons, with an appropriate scaling in cost as well as fleet point cost. There was a dev post about it. I'll find the link, if you want.

When a button has a secondary function (a la use ability once/autouse ability or jump alone/jump in group) I'm pretty sure control+key toggles it.
At the moment, though, LRMs to heavy cruisers (generally) is the way to go. Carriers may end up being more worth it come next patch.
I usually have a Rapture or two in an average Advent fleet, but tend not to go after combat ships. It's all about stealing the support cruisers.
It worked that way, back in the day--culture did actually flip worlds. I don't remember what the reason for the change was, but I do remember being disappointed about it.
I'm rather glad, then, that I have English as a second language, and understand it thoroughly only because I learnt German (so violations of the subjunctive still hurt me deeply ) the hard way, at school.Excuse my (second) rant
If I was you I'd losen up about the subjunctive. >.> That was painful to write.
It's a great pile of fun, even in single player--you and nine AIs on a random huge map with either no teams or teams unlocked is a gaming experience quite unlike any other. On the other hand, you're really not very likely to find a ten-player free for all online. Speaking of which, I need to find time for a few remember-how-to-play games and get a few online matches in sometime.
