Basically the title says it all, I submit a windowsblind skin with preview image and my skin's wba file and it shows up under "Awaiting Moderation", I check a little while later and it's gone from there. It hasn't been approved, it's just removed. What's going on? This is the 2nd windowblinds skin I've submitted that appears to be deleted and I haven't rec'd an email telling me that it was rejected. I regularly submit bootskins and have

there is a defense, tape bags of microwave popcorn all over your body, the kernels will absorb the energy before it gets to your skin. The downside is you will be lynched by the mob that the gun was intended to disperse and you will likely be eaten alive... or you could cover yourself with some kind of skin tanning accelerator and look like a bahama mama within a few seconds of exposure to the microwave weapon - also wo

Hey Wizop Corky O, I have Vista RC1 - never got around to downloading RC2, didn't think enough changed between rc1 & rc2 to merit spending the time to download another vista beta. Your vista rc2 will only run for so long and then you will have to purchase it to continue using it, I believe that beta 2, rc1 & 2 are only good for maybe 180 days but I could be wrong. I have also downloaded & used the office 2007 beta, and I think I'll stick with office

Apparently Zune is not incompatible with the billions of songs sold through Apple's iTunes Store, the Zune is also incompatible with the songs sold by all of Microsoft's PlaysForSure (go figure, create the "PlayForSure" initiative and then release a device incompatible with it?) partners, including MTV URGE, Napster, and Yahoo! Music. It's also incompatible with RealNetworks' Rhapsody service. The only thing it has that the other mp3 device

Zune Set to Launch (original article by Paul Thurrott, thurrott@windowsitpro.com) You might have seen the trying-hard-to-be-hip advertising by now: Microsoft is beginning the marketing death march for its Zune portable digital music player, hoping to convince consumers that there's a viable alternative to Apple's dominant iPod. If the early reviews are to be believed, however, Microsoft first-generation Zune isn't all that exciting. It looks like it's going to be a tough holiday sea

Fuzzy Logic, check the bootskins daily, there are literally thousands of great bootskins out there, take a few minutes and I'm sure you'll find something that catches your eye, heck the search engine on the bootskin page may help shorten the time required to search for something specific. Plus if bootskin does work on your pc, send out a request and let us know what kind of bootskin you want created for you, chances are you'll probably get a lot of responses. I discovered thi

Microsoft & Peter Jackson Delay "Halo" Movie (original article by Paul Thurrott, thurrott@windowsitpro.com) On Halloween, Microsoft and award-winning filmmaker Peter Jackson announced some horrifying news for video game fans: They're delaying the production of the long-awaited "Halo" movie until an unspecified time in the future. The movie was previously set for a summer 2008 release. "At this time, Microsoft, Peter Jackson, and Fran Walsh have mutually agreed to postpone making

Sorry WebGizmos, never meant to offend you in anyway but reading my post a 2nd time, it pretty much came out that way. I apologize for my comments, you obviously do a lot to support this site. When I read your reply "I'd just stay away from bootskin...I've seen nothing but complaints about it and it obviously isn't all that stable.", I didn't understand why someone would be so opposed to it and I reacted accordingly. (I need to learn to listen more and talk less) IMHO Bootsk

Hi Fuzzy Logic, - you're GeForce 7600 video card may work great with games like Quake, Unreal Tournament, Doom, etc which is what it's meant for so in the end you haven't really lost anything if bootskin will not work for you. I think however the company that made that video card didn't really care how well it performs in a 16 color environment, it could also be the fault of your motherboard which doesn't fully support your video cards ability in a pre-OS environment (during bootup). It co

for someone with the journeyman title (I'm referring to user webgizmos), you would think you would be more supportive of this site and it's products. Bootskin works just fine and is plenty stable. Older pc's with older video cards will have issues running bootskin but that isn't a fault with the bootskin software, it's a fault with the faulty video card drivers and older hardware in that specific pc. Newer pc's will not have the problem. This user is running win2k, it's time for an u

Apple Ships iPods with Windows Virus (original article by Paul Thurrott) This week, Apple reported that a relatively small number of its iPod portable MP3 players shipped with a Windows virus. The virus--which affects the full-sized iPod with video--can infect Windows computers that the devices are connected to. Apple, naturally, took the opportunity to partially blame the problem on Microsoft. "We are upset at Windows for not being more hardy against such viruses, and ev

I'm afraid to ask how much (because I'm cheap and know this stuff is expensive), ok... how much did this truck load of bleeding edge equipment cost you? Is this so that you can run Windows Vista (without getting a windows experience rating of 1.0 - that's me right now), or will you be running winxp or linux on this box?

any chance of getting a look at our skins awaiting moderation, same as we currently have at wincustomize.com? That way we can see what we've submitted, what has been approved and what is still awaiting moderation? Maybe I'm blind but I don't see that feature on this guichamp website yet and it would probably help with people wondering if their submissions have been uploaded properly and what their status is: waiting moderation, approved, rejected, etc.

I think they may have fixed the problem, I was unable to get in thursday to sunday including last night but it seems to be working this morning. Congrats to the site admins for fixing this problem!!! (on a side note, does this mean that I'm an addict that I can't handle being without my wincustomize site for more than a few days, wow - I can't handle these withdrawal symptoms, thanks for

it's pretty much everyone at this point, I attempted to check out the wincustomize personal websites of all the top bootskin authors and "service unavailable" is the message that get's displayed for everyone with a subdomain off of wincustomize.com (ex. unclerob.wincustomize.com) I think it would be helpful to confirm that their is a problem with the site by posting a message on the wincustomize home page acknowledging that this problem exists and maybe let everyone know that it is bein

If what Cavan says is true, I would hope that they wouldn't just leave it at that. The function was working, I for one browse other artists work by clicking on their alias and then viewing their skins from the link presented, we can't do that anymore which tends to hinder downloading more than 1 skin from any specific artist. Plus part of the subscription fee we paid for provided that as a function of the subscription, I don't think they can just turn off subscription features without notifyin

accessing the "my skins" page works fine from this forums page but that doesn't help user's who like to browse skins by author. Is this a database issue as mentioned above or a problem with the website host service provider? It seems that all of the author's pages which are just subdomains (ex. unclerob .wincustomize.com ) of wincustomize.com seem to be affected. What I'm surprised (and maybe I'm not looking deep enough), no announcement has been made on the website indicating

I'm sorry to inform you that you are not covered against both viruses & spyware because you use NIS (Norton Internet Security). Symantec's NIS is not even close to being best of breed in the firewall software class. Few things you should do when the system is working: Download & install Spybot v1.4, Ad Aware SE 1.06, MS Defender Beta 2, Webroot SpySweeper (demo version, good for 14 days) and Cleanup v4.5.2 (there are other apps to consider but this will start you off). Once these

I don't about a specific site for just ff skins but I'll offer a shameful plug on my own ff bootskin, https://www.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SkinID=6835&LibID=32&comments=1 I think it turned out pretty nice, hasn't been terribly popular as far as downloads go. If you do find a site, post a reply here, I wouldn't mind check out other ff skins. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 A
