I'm relatively new to the whole skinning scene, don't know alot of the history leading up to current versions of skinning software or other versions of software that perform the same thing. What's wrong with themeXP? I've heard of it but I've never researched it to see if I would use it or not. I just use the latest version of wb.

I only skin for winxp at the moment, vista users may be growing in number but they don't come close to matching the number of winxp users out there. Don't worry about xp becoming obsolete, sp3 for xp isn't scheduled for release until sometime in 2008, you still have a ways to go before xp goes away. I would say skin for xp, your skillset can only benefit from the experience when in a few years you make the shift to skinning for vista. Plus I could be wrong but I heard someone say that th

I've tried this using IE6 and I downloaded Flock's browser (just for uploading picks to flickr's website) and both have the same problem. I thought at first it was possibly a spyware problem on my pc (it wasn't, my pc is clean), then after re-imaging a new machine at work with a clean install of winxp I tried it on that machine and I rec'd the same problem so I know it's not related to the machine, it must be site related (or possibly something to do with my wc account info?). ultimately, that kind of sucks. It would appear that people should then really focus on purchasing the Vista Ultimate version if they're thinking of going Vista. The other versions seem to have too many limitations or aren't as feature rich, you'll end up kicking yourself if you saved a few bucks going with a cheaper version of vista and then realize you should have just stayed with XP if you weren't going to purchase Ultimate.

Glad to hear that it was a false positive. But more to the point, yes it's very possible for malware (virus, spyware, adware, etc.) to hide inside a wb skin folder. It also seems that this would be a great way to transmit viruses & spyware to alot of other pc's if people aren't careful. All of the submissions that are uploaded to this site are personally reviewed by moderators before being released to the downloading public. If some form of malware did get zipped up inside

well if you can't boot up in safe mode, you will need to repair your win2k installation. Get your original win2k install cdrom, boot your pc off this install cdrom, when the win2k install cdrom boots up, go through the prompts and look for the repair option. It will re-install the win2k core os files, if you can get win2k to bootup after this process, you will need to reinstall sp4 & the update rollup pkg and all subsequent updates. I don't see any other way around the win2k repair process

Just wondering if the site went down temporarily within the last little while. I noticed that the bootskin & wb sections were experiencing some incredible download activity, it had been a while since I had seen downloads#'s by skin for the day that high (the weekends are usually busier) and all of a sudden all of the download counts have been reset to zero and starting over again. here's a question, if the pc is joined to a domain instead of a standard workgroup (which is what you would you use if you were a home user or SMB user), I would assume that this pc in question is used at work where it's connected to the corporate network which is why your pc logs on to a domain.
