Just wanted to say Build 1.02 crashed Windows Explorer again for me too this morning. The way I got it to crash was I clicked on All Programs then scrolled up and down and then clicked the Start8 button a few times in a row and Start8 menu froze and the Windows Explorer restarted. Ok I posted actually 2 different Event Logs which both happend right around the same time.
Holy Cow this looks freaking cool! :)
Actually it does kind of glow a little already but I do think maybe it could be made brighter perhaps. So +1 for me too :)
I would like to know this also?

I will try and explain this the best way I can. When you are on the desktop and have some Modern UI apps running in the backround and move the mouse cursor to the top left corner to bring up that bar showing the thumbnails of the opened apps when I click on the Windows 8 Start menu at the bottom of the bar sometimes it does not detect my click and it stays on the desktop instead of opening the Windows 8 Start menu. I did a lot of testing and it seems i
Our aim is be better than the original start menu rather than an exact 100% copy. Otherwise you would be stuck with the Windows 7 look! Number 1, 2, 3 and 4 are certainly on the list. Number 5 is pretty niche and so far you are the only person who has requested this.
Thats really great to hear about 1,2 ,3 and 4 are on your list! :) Also I am very happy to hear that Stardo
1. "Send To" when right clicking any program in the Programs List. 2. "Show on Desktop" when right clicking on things on the right side of the Start8 menu like "Computer" and "Control panel". 3. Please fix Start8 so I can click on the Power Action Button and then move my mouse over another button like "Computer" and be able to single right click on it to bring up the right click menu. Currently I need to right click 2 times.
I am pleased to say that after intentionally slowing down parts of Start8 and a lot of clicking the issue has been reproduced and most importantly tracked down and resolved. It appears it was very timing sensitive which is why most people have not encountered the problem, but by slowing some code down it was easier to reproduce. Unfortunately I may need a new mouse now...
Great
Same here clicking Start8 fast over and over does cause Windows Explorer to crash! However even clicking Start8 normaly also causes Windows Explorer to crash at random times!
At random times when I click on Start8 button in lower right corner it crashes Windows Explorer and then Windows Explorer restarts after a few seconds. It does not happen all but it does happen enough that it bothers me! Has anyone else seen this issue and will it be fixed? I think Start8 needs to be more stable!
Hello Stardock, Can you add the "Show on Desktop" item to the right click context menu on the "Computer" and "Corntl Panel" buttons? Thanks again and I am looking forward to another build to try :)

I think think this would be a very handy feature from the Windows 7 start menu :) Thanks
Is there any chance you could add a "Desktop (Create Shortcut)" item and or the "Send To" item when right clicking programs on the All Programs menu on Start8? Thanks
Quoting gate1975mlm, reply 2Just becasue you your self has never seen a purpose for a tooltip for the start button does not mean other users don't have a need for it.A want is different than a need. Why is this an issue for you (and for other people)?
Well I have a family member who is a little "Slow" and he may not understand what the button in the buttom left corner does. But if a tooltip displayed "Sta
2. why would you even click the power menu if you're not intending to log off, reboot, or shut down anyways? I don't see how this is an issue 3. Seriously? Why? I never saw a purpose to the little tooltip over the start button 4. Yeah this would be nice, or the ability to disable highlight newly installed programs altogether. 5. I think this was already requested, but I second this.

Is there a particular reason why you would want to close it?
Honestly no from me personally I really can't think of a reason to close Start8. However what if by chance Start8 starts to cause issues with your computer? Option to shut it down could maybe come in handy for users. Anyway not a huge deal either way I was just thinking maybe it would be a good idea
Why is there no button for shuting down "Start8"? I would like to make a request to add a button to Shut Down Start8. Maybe you could add "Shut Down Start8" to the right click menu on start8 perhaps? I think this could come in handy for the times when someone way want to close Start8 for what ever reason :) Thanks
