LOL kryo :D I think double posting is wrong because it's a trend that some people take to ensure people reads their post which is just wrong because, if everyone did it, we would end with double lenght threads, double time to read or go through, double factor of annoyance.... and so on .... I'm aware that some people do it because their comp is slow and they tend to do multiple clicks on the "post reply" button, but those people shall learn that patience

there's one problem with this kind of DRM though, I don't know of any implementation that is robust enough when dealing with date checks to satisfy publishers :( though I agree that the ultimate "DRM" example for me is like "X3:Reunion" where the publisher release a patch to deactivate the DRM after some time (except stardock system which is even better imho)
For my part, I don't understand why anyone ever used 2000, or is still using it. While XP borrowed from 2k's codebase, 2000 was essentially a business OS-it was the successor to NT. The logical conclusions would be to still be on 98, which is ancient, or to be on ME, which was a total failure. Which leaves us with XP.
98 and ME pales in comparison to win2k ... being a business class OS meant stability and directX

gallagher118 if you ever get more RAM in the future (not advising to get more RAM, mind you, just a little tip if ever it happens) I suggest looking through this post of mine and others https://forums.stardock.com/328255 this deals with how to make any galciv2 be able to access memory beyond 2GB (still depends on a few other parameters though, like windows version and such ...)
GalCiv II v2.0 will not be on Stardock Central. It would require additional development on Stardock Central in order to handle all of the permutations in which GalCiv is available to support 2.0. For those of you who have problems with Impulse, we'll make sure we resolve them as soon as possible. As you can see from some of the posts, even with Impulse it's been a challenge to deal with all the different ways GalCiv is availa

First and foremost this is like I call it a P.I.S.D that is : Project or Idea or Suggestion and Discussion what does that mean ? that means at this point in time I'm thinking about it and gathering data, I or someone else may do a mod based on this but it's not really a sure thing this discussion is intended for Twilight of the Arnor , in gigantic or superior galaxy sizes since this is what I play. now, t

Since another company owned the rights for DL distribution in europe, a specific version with only DA & TA was made. (but the DL campaign is included nonetheless, just the DL engine is missing)

there's still something missing from Endless Universe (albeit it depends on your personal preferences whether this matters or not) it's the "DL engine" and whole 'galaxy workings' with it (which are quite different than DA & moreso TA)

First thing that comes to mind is the graphics of that screenshot of Not-MoM. Looks like Super Nintendo class graphics I got that survey and from the question "what 3 gametypes do you want Stardock to focus on" I choose TBS types all the way. Not because they're my favorites but because my other favorite genres (FSP, RTS and ARPG/RTRPG) are being m

you guys forgot this in the legitimate complaints : if a program needs to install additional "something" on your computer, the user should : know about it, prior to buy AND upon installation, this "something" should NOT in any case pave the way for hacks/cheats/viruses/trojans and malware in general, and this "something" shouldn't in any case be able to make the stability of the computer at risk (which in turns makes data loss a possibility)
The report is nice and all, but I find it interesting that Linux was an option for what people want Stardock to focus on, while actual Linux users couldn't honestly complete the survey. If I remember correctly, there was a question on what operating system you use. But it only listed Windows OSes. I tried to leave it blank, but it wouldn't let me. So I chose the last version of Windows I used, which w

To my knowledge (and I doubt this has changed), uninstalling and reinstalling does not remove your savegames, shipconfigs, raceconfigs, etc. Your other issue sounds like a different problem than the one I had, though. My apologies for not being able to be more helpful.
I will suggest that : "r

After listening to everyone post here's what I come down to : -1 on tough difficulty the defence ship strategy works well, but then it's also quite easy to simply out-tech AIs -2 on any difficulty above, the defence ship strategy pales in comparison to the all-attack ship strategy mainly due to tech cost, the fact that AIs tend to out-tech the player, and the miniaturization bonuses AIs get here's a round for you guys, after all that talk I'm thirsty [e

in my current game, the lone insane AI has a lot of fleets of 34 to 50+ attack (3 small hulls) I'm at 7 attack, and I abused diplomacy a lot to get to that point (buying worlds / techs (some unique with +x% weapon bonuses...), I don't know how much defense I could have but I think sole soul has a point, 1vs1 in my game defense ships would be complete waste of production (I could probably get 50% more firepower in less than 12 turns I think)
