Sigh. I can't imagine Windows withOUT Windowblinds! This computer will be 5 years old in December and I was planning to get a new computer then with Windows 11, as a Christmas present to myself, and immediately put Windowblinds and Start11 on it. I had not considered the fact that Microsoft's gimmicky, gradually doled out updates for Windows 11 could badly effect Windowblinds 11. I hope by then Microsoft will have stopped with the dribbling of updates to Windows 11. </p

Firefox 78 ESR skinned after I enabled the Title Bar. [e digicons]|-)[/e] I downloaded the zipped file from here that is supposed fix Edge. I unzipped it but Windows said the path was invalid when I tried to run it. That error message triggered a vague memory of a similar problem with an earlier version of WindowBlinds on Windows 10 about two years ago. So, I went looking and found the Chrome zip file from back then to be the same as the one I had just downloaded a

Thanks! I was slightly confused when Windows said it couldn't find WindowBlinds registry key to uninstall it after I ran that batch file. It was already uninstalled. [e digicons]|-)[/e] Anyhow, I redownloaded WindowBlinds and this time I got the latest version and not the earlier version that I had been running. I installed it and it is working fine. I think I saw a reference to getting it to work with Edge browser but I can't find it now. I don't

Been using WindowBlinds since 2006 and love it. I can't update it from current 10.84 to the latest version. It is running on a Dell XPS 8930 desktop (along with the latest Start10): Edition Windows 10 Pro Version 20H2 Installed on ‎11/‎26/‎2020 OS build 19042.1165 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3530.0 I downloaded the new ve

I'm being told that the Start 10 beta is a 30 day trial. Yet here I was told 10 days. Which is it? I will buy Start10 IF I decide to upgrade but there are many factors affecting that decision. One of them is that Start8 causes a mess for the taskbar in Win 10 (at least I think it is Start8 ...surely what I have as a taskbar is not what Microsoft intends) and, now I have learned, the problems (dimming of the screen and tablet display rather than desktop) I am havi

It installed fine for me back last October. Maybe Stardock disabled it since then? I have Start8 installed also. I use the Stardock Win8 skin and add some customization. But the main reason I installed Windowblinds is to get MY choice of fonts for Windows and to have the font bolded. This, of course, works beautifully on my host Windows 8 Pro machine but on Win 10 Preview on a Hypr-V virtual machine MOST areas are bolded and use Verdana Bold font but what

When I try to configure Start8 for the default hidden admin account or for another regular admin account (other than my own) the configuration screen is not brought up. Instead, IE opens to Stardock download saying there is a newer version. I don't want it. I have 1.5 and want that version to work on not only MY admin account but the other admin accounts I have also. Seems to me that for the default hidden admin account it should just work (version 1.5) and not b

I'm disappointed that Stardock is only offering $1 off the price of Start10 if I upgrade from Win 8 to Win 10. I'm using Start8 on Win 10 Preview and it works well on the current build. If I upgrade to Win 10 will I also have to purchase WindowBlinds Win 10 version? No free upgrade on it either? I'm probably going to stay on Windows 8 and the issue will be moot but I think at the least Stardock should offer those upgrading is 50% off both Start10 and Wi

Installed via the installer on top of the previous version. I sent support the setup log. Ugh about having to uninstall and reinstall. Will I lose my theme settings? I rather extensively modified Stardock's Win8 theme in Skin Studio quite awhile ago and then somehow lost it (thought I had saved it). So, I currently just have the Win8 theme as modified (much less modification than in Skin Studio) in Windowblinds itself. Is that going to be saved somewhere

I do hope Stardock is aware that within a few months many "power" users of Fx will be moving from the release version to the Developer version permanently. This what Mozilla has decreed we all should do when the new draconian extension signing requirement goes into effect. It never occurred to me until just now that the Developer version would not be supported for Windowblinds.

I upgraded from 8.06 to 8.1 on March 28. It appeared to upgrade successfully (upgraded Start8 at the same time) and the Setup log looks ok. So, why does About:WindowBlinds show 8.06 as the version? (In contrast, when I look at About:Start8, it shows the new version 1.5). Windows 8.0 Pro

I have UAC disabled in the registry. That setting has never affected Start8 on Windows 8.0 Pro or on Ten Preview until this build. The only indication of something wrong is that Start8 Menu in the current build does nothing when I click on it. I didn't realize that Microsoft really wants to force me to use UAC in this build because that was not true in the earlier builds. I enabled UAC and could see that MUCH WORSE (than in Windows 8) Metro junk Start menu when I click
The current beta of Start8 works with the Windows 10 preview. Beyond that is something we'll be discussing further in the year. [e digicons]:)[/e]
Where do I get the beta? (I could not get logged in here...was logged into Stardock site and Store but not the forums. Finally, suddenly I got logged in and saw this thread almost immediately. If the beta is available for download from the forums I

Start8 1.47 was working fine with earlier builds of Win 10 Preview but with this latest build it works fine only on Desktop side. The only part that doesn't work is when I click on "Windows 8 Menu" it no longer takes me to Metro side. I don't want to use Metro apps but I want to be able to access Metro side if I need to do so. Until I learned how to get Windows Updates back in the Control Panel, I needed access to Metro side for that and couldn't get there. <br /

So, what about Windows Blinds? I have it as well as Start8. I use Windows 8 theme with heavy personal modifications. One thing I did not change (because I love it) is the Start8 Windows Blinds skin start button. It's the button you have stated Microsoft is objecting to us using. So, will it be removed from Windows Blinds also whenever I finally upgrade to 8.1? In fact, all the buttons for preset Windows 8 skins in Windows Blinds have the Microsoft flag except for one I t

I have been using Start8 and Windows Blinds for months with no problems on Windows 8 Pro. I upgraded SeaMonkey 2.20 yesterday to the latest version 2.21. 2.20 (and earlier versions) worked fine with Windows Blinds. But 2.21 has a problem that I think is related to Windows Blinds. I have thoroughly troubleshooted SeaMonkey (tried SafeMode, tried a new Profile, etc) and I still have the problem. I have not turned off Windows Blinds to be certain incompatibility w
