Cannot Update WindowBlinds

Been using WindowBlinds since 2006 and love it.  I can't update it from current 10.84 to the latest version.  It is running on a Dell XPS 8930 desktop (along with the latest Start10):

Edition    Windows 10 Pro
Version    20H2
Installed on    ‎11/‎26/‎2020
OS build    19042.1165
Experience    Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3530.0

I downloaded the new version from your website. It appeared, when I checked in Windows Explorer, to be the version I got here back in June (10.84) but I ran it anyway.  It did NOT prompt me to uninstall the current version but it looked like it was doing it. When it finished there was no prompt to reboot but I did and checked the current WindowBlinds version.  It reports itself as 10.84 so how do I get 10.89 to download and install?  Thanks.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please try purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here: [link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purged. Reinstall, and Reboot again after the installation. Retest it. Report back here.

Thanks!  I was slightly confused when Windows said it couldn't find WindowBlinds registry key to uninstall it after I ran that batch file.  It was already uninstalled.   |-) Anyhow, I redownloaded WindowBlinds and this time I got the latest version and not the earlier version that I had been running.

I installed it and it is working fine.  I think I saw a reference to getting it to work with Edge browser but I can't find it now.  I don't use Edge a lot but sometimes my default browser won't work with a site and Edge will so how do I get it to skin Edge?  Plus, it skins Firefox 60.9 ESR version but refuses to skin Firefox Portable 78.14.0 ESR version. Is that because 60.9ESR has a titlebar and 78.14.0 ESR does not (and I can't see where to enable that)?

Has Microsoft ever paid attention to Stardock's WindowBlinds problems on Windows 11?  This computer can easily run Windows 11 but I won't upgrade unless WindowBlinds works with it.

For Edge, its the same as Chrome since it is currently using same browser engine. you can use this guide : https://forums.stardock.com/486023/windowblinds-support-faq#chromeskin also make sure to turn on the option in Windowblinds setting : refer to screenshot below.

For Firefox, not really sure about it portable version. But, I think your observation is on the dot.

For Windowblinds on Windows 11, no official announcement yet.

Firefox 78 ESR skinned after I enabled the Title Bar.  |-)

I downloaded the zipped file from here that is supposed fix Edge. I unzipped it but Windows said the path was invalid when I tried to run it.  That error message triggered a vague memory of a similar problem with an earlier version of WindowBlinds on Windows 10 about two years ago. So, I went looking and found the Chrome zip file from back then to be the same as the one I had just downloaded and unzipped. It was on my data drive.  I tried to run it and got the same message that I get now with the newly downloaded zipped file after unzipping....the path is invalid.

I think I recall Edge being skinned earlier but I don't use it often so I don't know when it stopped being skinned as I use it briefly when I do use it and probably didn't notice.  I'm thinking that the error message about an invalid path for the older Chrome file occurred AFTER I updated from Windows 10 2004 to Windows 10 20H2 on August 4.

Anyhow, I deleted the old Chrome file and deleted the new one.  I rebooted and fetched the zip file again, unzipped and it still causes a Windows error about an invalid path.  Grrrr....:(

Why does this forum work ONLY on Edge and not on my default browser or other browsers?

Hello,

Do note that double dash "C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --disable-windows10-custom-titlebar

from your screenshot its look like single dash? and in there is error on your additional part. Please follow it by the letters.

WindowBlinds skins Brave browser but NOT Vivaldi 3.6.2. Ugh.
End of Mele20's quote

And what do you mean by that?

Meaning that Vivaldi browser doesn't get skinned, I've tried it too with no luck.
