In a recent article they mentioned April would be the release date. That's not too far off.

Sorry for the double-post. I got another forum message error and it re-posted. Has anyone else been seeing errors? It doesn't happen consistently, but often enough.
It's kind of too bad there isn't an option to install it on multiple computers for local LAN play only, even if you don't own the other PC. I'd think for LAN party games this would really make Sins popular and increase sales, but SD would need to figure out a way to prohibit single and on-line play via IC while still allowing the LAN games. In other games that allow this option, usually it prohibits playing multiplayer outside of a LAN and also the single player mode campaign mode, which seems

I believe you can play two people on a local LAN with one purchase. I recall reading that in a different post.
Maybe there should be a subtitle to Sins. Sins of a Solar Empire: Rise of the Sleep Deprivation. ;)
I suspect a bad copy and past, but a mobile device seems plausible. Maybe the original author could shed some light here (if it's not just a drive-by posting).
How easy is it to spot people that are going the spamming route, would you say? Spamming on-line does seem to be a typical route of exploiting, but how easy that is to counter and recognize is debatable. I suppose it depends on how much you utilize scouts and make a point of checking up on your enemies. I can understand that defense shouldn't be too strong in this game, as it's already a slower game and making it more defensive would only slow the pace down more. Looking at t
It seems like the 1.03 AI is greatly improved, but still needs tweaking in a few areas. I hope Brad and the IC guys are reading this thread, as you guys have really listed some constructive feedback regarding AI behavior improvements. Make sure you voice some of these on a 1.04 thread when it comes up.
Vinraith- While there are certainly less things going on and features than Gal Civ 2, the real strategy here is how you choose to take actions. Which tech is best to research now? Which AI should you ally with or pick on? Is it best to spend money on a bounty or a military? Where should you send your fleet? Should you build defense in a certain location? The questions above are present in other RTSes to some degree, but many RTSes devolve into a click-fest or are single-mi
Sounds right to me. Hopefully there will be different people involved in creating the demo so they can be working on 1.04 while that's happening, but it's hard to know how many resources SD and IC have.
Updates on TA have been few since the release of Sins of a Solar Empire, mostly because Brad is having to coordinate these two projects as well as try and release The Political Machine this summer. That's a lot of stuff at one time, especially when he's involved in the AIs so much. And update would be nice, though.
I think he means the new AI level where the AI gets a bonus (is it called Unfair? I think so). I'm not sure we need more reasons for people to be deprived sleep (I think that's commonplace enough), but at least it's in a fun way, right? :) I think SoaSE has revolutionized the gaming industry. While there aren't particular aspects that are individually creative, it's the mashup as well as some gaming philosophy that makes it so enjoyable. Good times.
Cool. SD/IC have been great about fixing issues on their end, but they can't fix graphic driver issues! The other amazing thing here is that they're coming out with 1.1. For most companies, the .1 would be an entirely new expansion, but SD does a great job with rewarding the community for their purchases and also caring about what they created. Now, if people can just post constructive feedback and be more appreciative, I can only imagine how awesome the next updates will be... :)
Sounds like a great plan, Brad. Keep up the fine work. This isn't directly related, but any word on Nvidia fixing issues on their end that relate to Sins?
Does Impulse ship with Sins of a Solar Empire? I noticed the original date was mid-Feb., but that's come and gone. Is the release far off?
The twin for this post is at: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/304510 This thread (or the other should be locked/consolidated.
Ummm, why is this posted twice under two different threads? The other is at: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/304511 And why is the formatting so messed up? I'm having a really hard time trying to take away anything constructive from this post or the other identical one (as well as read it)...
I just bought a Q6600. I'm a gamer. And I do video editing. That doesn't mean I have too much money or am stupid- I bought the correct processor for my new box based on what I use. And the cost was just slightly higher for almost identical performance of a dual-core. A quad is overkill for most people now, but in a year or two it will become the standard. It'd be so nice if the OS could handle all the threading needs for software, so programmers wouldn't need to add in code to hand
What was the issue exactly that was fixed in this Beta driver?
Isn't Minesweeper already built into Windows? ;) The mine ideas are good here and something to suggest to developers. It would add some variety to the game play, although balancing things and making sure it doesn't get too complex will be the key to making this fun.
With great power comes great responsibility.
Yeah- it wouldn't be something SD could implement on the fly- it'd need to have good backing from them. I'm sure if they could tie it into their existing login structure that would help things considerably, but moderation would still be needed, unfortunately.
From what I know and based on the age of your card, you could be experiencing overheating of your card or more demand than it can manage. If you run Crysis at Medium resolution, you should try turning down Sins a bit and see if that helps. There's no harm other than a loss of some visuals. And while Sins does work well on older hardware, that's not to say you won't need to turn down some settings to get it to work well. How old is your video card- about 3 years? I'm trying to remember when
So, I'm sure most of you are familiar with Dell's IdeaStorm site: http://www.ideastorm.com/ I just thought- how cool would it be for Stardock to have something like this as a way to provide input on game development (especially in new games) and patch releases? I've thought about some of the pros and cons to this as well. Obviously it would require programming, administration, and financial resources to pull something like this off, so they'd need to be behind the effo
