Greetings, I am quite curious to see your modding changes. I quite like the "personal" enhancements I did with mine and this is the only thing left I don't like. Frankly, for me, a starbase should need a whole fleet to take out. those are supposed to be huge, generating a lot of energy and can have impressive attack and defense systems. Remember DS9 and the Klingon war? hehehehehe Thank you

Greetings, I am having fun to mod and I already expanded the tech tree under Planetary invasion and under Ethics to make 4 times more research. It is simply because I often maxed out the fun stuff in the tech tree and after a while, diplomatic victory is impossible to attain without really wiping the enemies. Anyway... I noticed it is always quite easy to kill the starbases if you don't park a powerful fleet on the tile. Even if the base is fully upgraded, it can't sta

Greetings, Beeing a SE IV (and modder), SE V Beta and GALCIV player I think I can give my 2 cents: - SE V has a looooooot of dept. The learning curve will be very steep for a non SE IV player. It is not the combat rock/scisor/paper type galciv has. You have mines, satellites, tons of weapons, shields, armors, cloaks, fighters, carriers, formations, experience to deal with. - SE V does not have the nice look and feel of Galciv. Don't even think it comes close. - SE V uni

Greetings, I was an heavy multiplayer game (Starcraft, Diablo, Everquest, etc) and I am even proud to say that I played the first 3D internet RPG (Meridian 59). But now I can't play those anymores for three simple reasons: - It takes a long time to have a nice game setup - When you lose, you are not sure you lost because the other player was better than you or if he cheated - Once a game is going on, there is a high

Greetings, I wonder how many here were (or are still) Starcraft broodwar players. Zergs were my favorite race but I loved those templars. if you were playing (especially against humans), I can tell you I was the first ever to get reaver dropped by Zileas. And I was the one who was the first to use 1 draggoon, 1 zealot and 1templars drop. Nice moments to remember. Just too bad no other game gave me the pleasure I had wit

Greetings, One quote from my Marketing teacher during my MBA: "Marketing is putting the idea you want in the mind of your futur consumer. And your consumer has the attention spawn of a monkey." Keeping that in mind: - Too much text (Rememer the basic of slides in presentations: 6 lines, 6 words, 1 main idea per slide) - If I would not have played the game, I would not know those are REAL graphics I see in the game - Scre

Greetings, I do understand how the focus work for the planets. However, there is something I don't get and I would like your inputs: Let's say I have a planet with no starport and I focus on military. I am wasting "production". Same thing if I focus on social and I have no more building to build or upgrade on that planet. However, if I focus the research and I don't have any research building, it does impact the researc

Greetings, It is my homeworld. It is a class 10. Because of those rich manufactures, I put manufactures on all bonus tiles, one research and the others I put moral enhencing. when I was able to free up titles with terraforming, I built a few wonders and trades goods quite fast. Now I am using it to produre starships. I have a ring of starbases around 3 star systems with allmodules taken. Thank you

Greetings, I got lucky. My Homeworld has a 700%, 3 100% manufacturing bonus and one 100 research bonus tiles. I put manufacturing plants of course on the manufacturing bonus tiles. However, when I get the manufacturing capital building, do I put it on a manufacturing bonus tile or do I put it on a no bonus tile? I guess the answer will be the same with research capital and political capital buildings. Do I put them on a bonus tile

Greetings, How can I determine what is the maximum population per planet? I try to find out, but I can't see where it is indicated? Also, by how many billion a fram increases your population maximum? Thank you

Greetings, Anyone has a clue how to solve that issue? When I start Stardock, it begins by updating the stardock appliation and it fails in the middle of it. It displays a Send/Don't send windows then close when I hit one of the other button. If I cancel the stardock application update and I try to update galCIV2, the update is in error. I see re-tries to get the files, but it seems not working. Any clue

Greetings, Anyone noticed that sometimes, after you load a game when you hit the turn button, there is not really a turn happening? I noticed it by simply buying a social project or ship, hitting turn, then trying to buy another project or ship and it is not done and I don't have the opportunity to buy one. Am I crazy? Thank you

Greetings, I do cheat a little bit at the start of my games. I hit - as long as my homeworld has at least a 300% research or 300% manufacture. Sometimes, I get lucky and get 300% + a 100%. It helps a lot when you play the hardest level. Talking about hardest level, if you let the trading on, it is quite hard to beat those pesjy AIs trading techs all over the place. But disabling trading tech removes a fun part to the game

Greetings, Is all the MODs available are just on that site on the Library or there are other places I can't find some? Thank you

Greetings, At higher level, the AI cheats (just a little bit) and had a bonus economy over yours (i.e.: 125%). If your opponent AI is set to intelligent and over, you can't sell your tech for a lot of money usually, if you want to sell xeno research to Terrans and you have a +20 diplomacy, you'll get something like 120 BCs. At the dumbest AIs levels, you'll get about 1000 BCs. Thank you

Greetings, I try to understand the voting system and there are some subtilities I don't get. I see three kind of votes (let me know if there are more) - The Galaxy council vote with the big screen with the all the major races pictures. You vote with your IPs. I think it is happening each 2 years. right? - The Political vote (technologists, etcs. You don't really vote. It appears and tells you if your political party is still

Greetings, How I do it? I always use the max setting for my race. I research up to total majesty as my first techs. I don't digress of the branch until I reach majesty, then I get soil and habitat, the first government that gives bonus (can't recall) then go back to get total majesty. (And I get the diplomatic trade good) Also, by trading in trade, I try to max my routes as soon as possible. Trade gives you diplomatic p

Greetings, I trade my techs a lot. Especially at the beginning of the game, it gets me money and by buying stuff, it can boost the start. Did you notice if you trade each tech separately, the AI gives you more money than if you trade it in a bunch? For example: Tech 1: AI gives you 10BC Tech 2: AI gives you 10BC Tech 3: AI gives you 10BC Tech 1, 2, and 3 together, the AI gives you 22 BCs.

Greetings, I think our friends at stardock should take care of those little things. Did it happened to you too? At the highest level of intelligence on any map size with any race: - I invade and capture one or a few planets. I seek peace. I position for the next hit, I capture one or a few planets, I seek peace. I did that very often (up to 10 times). The first 2-3 times, I had to pay. After that, the AI paid me to get peace.

Greetings, I play with the new Beta patch. I am in a middle of a game at the toughest level on a medium map. I am the #1 race with 4 systems and 7 planets. I keep my moral and approval to the highest possible. I have plenty of influence, my borders are quite well protected (influence and military wise), I have a ring of economic starebases around each solar systems to boost production. I am a STAR Democracy and my population is quite

Greetings, ok, I must be dumb. I have a little problem to understand how to make work the waypoints. I know how to set a waypoint with the arrow on the star map. Then i go to the waypoint screen and it is where I am all confused. Can someone walk me through step by step how I can set a waypoint for a planet and for ships please? Thank you

Greetings, One stupid question: It is about the core ships availables. Let's say I research a new engine. Will it be automatically on the next, let's say constructor or fighter that I build? What about the weapons? Thank you

Greetings, If you want a game with great ship to ship combat, try Space Empire IV Gold. This is WAYYYYYYY more complex than GalCIV2. I am not putting down galCIV2, it is a very good game and I am waiting impatiently for the patch. But if you like the tactical point of view of combats, you will be server a lot better with SEIV Gold. Thank you
