I have a very minor gripe when it comes to the AI and tech trading. When you get into the latter game, and you have a few very low level techs that you have yet to research, the computer seems to get it into its head to ask for extra-ordinarily HIGH techs in exchange for these bractical no-brainers (You could probably reasearch 10 of them in a single turn if there wasn't a 1 turn minimum) . Surely even they wouldn't b

We know of two serial # issues: Paradox had a misprint on the UK edition of GalCiv II Limited Edition. That can be solved in the downloads area (click on the European link) Similarly, they had a problem with their Italian serial # labels as well and Paradox is currently working on a solution to that. Which version do you

I think it really is a case of Horses for Courses .... If I want something that can be used to do more than just play games, I will use a PC... but if I want the absolute best that gaming experience has to offer I will use a console. Now if I want to play an RTS, or RPG or something else which "commonly" requires a keyboard or sophisticated mechanism to control/play I will go back to my PC... Though I have to say

Approval is different than influence. Lower your tax rate or build entertainment buildings on your planet to increase approval. So what then is the difference between "approval" and "happiness"? I wondered if entertainment improvements were meant for squares with bonuses to approval

Anomalies was mentioned in another thread.... But instead of respawning, I would prefer to see them stretched out a little so that it isn't such a "rush" in the early part of the game. Maybe have a better method for determining where those anomalies are, so that they are kept out of the most populated of spaces (after all, these civilizations have been around for a while... so it would stand a chance unexplored anomalies are those outside of

What I want to know is whether this trade is automatic or whether there are factors involved in determining when/what to trade. So will the Yor *always* trade mass drivers to the drengin? Or will it check their relations first, check their alliances, and through some formula determine if it does this.

I guess thats why I said "it feels like" You just get that feeling where no matter where you turn up, they have already been there, and this includes places you didn't really think they had the chance to reach given the period of time and how far away it was from their home world. The "feeling" is that they knew more about the

My first game I played on Beginner, and now that I have started a second game on Normal I noticed one very BIG difference that seemed disproportionate. Where as in beginner there was what felt like a decent and "fair" rush for colonies, this time it feels as if the computer is actually cheating!!! They seem to have far too many planets already colonized (which means they have not only been to the system but also built and s

I have tried another color but it isn't it.I don't even see the mini map button options nor the zoom (+/-). It's like all these things are hidden. (now I picked a yellow color for race). Try turning off all of the additional video features, maybe your graphics card is just having trouble rendering

So just to be extra clear regarding Mining starbases.... The area of effect for mining starbases only relates to any specific defenses that have been placed on the starbase, not to the resource that is being mined (which always has an empire-wide effect) .

Would be nice to be able to search on all the posts that I have replied to, so that I can follow up on them.

There is a united planets vote which talks about only being able to search anomalies if they are within your borders or outside of anyones control... I got this event so late in the game there really wasn't any point in having the vote at all. This is another example of events that really are only specific to a particular portion of very specific types of games (ie large maps)

I think that anomalies are a little undervalued in the way in which they occur. The fact that they only exist at the beginning of the game, and once found they NEVER come back again seems to me to be a bit counter productive to some of the techs that can be researched to improve it. By the time people get around to researching the tech which produces a survey module, or the trade good that grants ALL ships survey ability, all anomalie

Here are my ideas on things that should be included with espionage. I have based a lot of these ideas on playing MOO and Civ3/4 Cost of Espionage/Counter-Espionage Instead of a single cost, there should be an amount of money that is put into both spying on another race, and the amount you put into your own empire to detect espionage from other races (Called Counter-Espionage) .You need to have this second spending se

If it's true that the GCI three slider system involved only one capacity pool. And if it's true that GC2 uses two pools but the same three linked sliders, well then frankly the system is wrong and broken. It's not a matter of one preference over another or how can it explained 'in-game', it's just not right. With a seperate research point capacity pool the research slider

Well, just because it's there doesn't mean you have to exploit it....it didn't ruin the game, you ruined your own game. Lets just hope he doesn't discover cheat mode... it might ruin the game again

I think they are talking about the resizing slider (ie left of the remove button) When you have a component selected, but have NOT yet placed it on the ship, this slider will allow you to scale that component to a suitable size before you add it. Once added, you cannot resize it when it is attached (which I think you should be able to!!!)

Run some anti-spyware just to be on the safe side. Also, get more RAM. I'm running perfectly good with 1GB of RAM. I do notice that it lags after 4 hours of gaming. But a good reboot fixes it You shouldn't have to reboot to play a game... memory leaks are an unfortunate and aweful side effect of using
