Oh I sure do as that's what makes these games fun and challenging for me. I'm so sick of wanting "balance" in a computer game when players know damn well the AI can't win a "balanced" game against thatm. When you have AI attacking other AI that's just plain stupid as it just whittles down your opponents into one strong AI that you'll destroy anyways but if you have 4 AI opponents coming at you from 4 differe

Right now, many damage spells rely on shards to increase the effect. (E.g 18 base damage +1 per fire shard) I propose making the caster's level the factor that increases spell damage directly, with the shards as an additional modifier. The modifier might be something like increasing the total damage by 5 or 10% per shard. So 1 fire shard would increase damage by 10%, two would increase damage by 20%, etc. For example: A 10th level sovereign with access to two fir

I know this won't matter in about a week with the release of 1.3, but... In my current game (with 1.29frog), the AI is using ships...but I didn't purchase the map pack. Hmm, no, the AI doesn't cheat, not at all.... [e digicons][/e]

Sounds great! Thanks for the announcement! Only two concerns: Will the system requirements remain the same with LH as they are for FE? Since Swarm was mentioned several times, I assume it will be a major factor in tactical combat? Will there be options/abilities/spells available for countering swarm?
Seems to me the only thing you can learn from that, is that the majority of the review scores used by MetaCritic, were pulled out of the reviewers hats. So I assumed he made the post for a deeper reason other than an opportunity to
I've got some experience with statistics (I had to take it in college and did mediocre in it). This isn't a good graph to really show a "trend". The scale should go from 0 to 100. Also, there are too few scores. Also, reality check. Getting a game review in the 90+ is exceptionally rare, and you simply can't consider that the standard to which you should compare all other released games. Fir
Can't expect every game to get 90+, all the scores but WoM are good.
Sure, the individual scores are good, but the fact that they are trending downward over time should be of concern. Is it because consumer expectaions are changing? Is it technical?, Is it staffing levels (workload)? Skill set distribution?, etc. I'm not familar with the software industry, but these are the kind of things I

FE is really 30% civ and 70% war game. In order to win you have to focus on spamming pioneers and troops. Everything centers around the power rating. Focus on keeping it higher than all of the AI factions, and the AI will join hands and sing kum-ba-ya with you for the entire game.

I'm not a zealot, but I like this genre and I would like to see more of it. It doesn't necessarily have to be FE/Elemental, but something with a fantasy theme. I get the feeling that Frogboy is inclined not to continue FE unless there is a strong response in either direction from the zealous among us. , so this survey is to assess interest, similar to the Map pack. I'm well aware that this gendre is a niche within a niche, so sales/sales growth is limited, but hone

One thing that doesn't get mentioned anymore, but would go a long way in improving the gaming experience... 1. Improve the manuals. In their current form, the manuals really don't explain important aspects of the game. For example prerequisits aren't mentioned, the fact that you can learn certain techs multiple times isn't explained, etc, etc.

I like the idea of crafting, but while your busy collecting materials and spending time building the magic item, your not adventuring and leveling up, which could put the sovereign at a disadvatage vs. the AI.

So, I purchased FE when it first came out at full price, and about a month later it was discounted by about 32%. Over the past week I've received 2 promotional emails from SD, one offering certain programs for $10, and another offering a 10% discount if I take a survey. First, it seems like this agressive discounting cheapens the brand. After I saw two promotions in a week from SD, I was reminded of those promotions my wife is constanly receiving from those discount c

On my first 1.2 game, I didn't find crystal or metal for the whole game. I tried to trade for it, but non of the other factions had metal or crystal either. and there seemed to be an over-abundance of shards. Now, I understand something like this could happen on a randomly generated map, so I didn't give it much thought. But now on my second game, I'm experiencing the same thing. Plenty of shards, but no metal, crystals, no grains felds, no bees, etc. Is anyone els
In my first "serious" game of FE I managed to capture a city for the first time. Then all my (two) armies in the field disappeared. Just a single archer going to his own business remained. Having started a war, this was not good. In the captured city an enemy caravan remained (this seems strange to me, because it should be captured if it's a non-combat unit, or it should have been destroyed in the battle if it's a combat unit). <
Click on the outpost. There will be a dotted green line leading to a city; THAT is the attached city. As a rule, that line always runs to the nearest city. (No, I don't know how it chooses if there are two equally close cities, but it does choose.)
Yea, I know about that line, but I rarely have overlapping cities, so I was wondering if the overlap made the game look at it as one whole. I guess not
