If you wait to purchase a game 6 months or so after it's released, you can usually get it for 50% of the original price. (if not more) In the age of digital downloads and Steam, no one should ever pay full price for a game. And waiting gives you the opportunity to read reviews and decide if a game is worth buying, thus potentially saving you even more money.

I often find that the lieutenants come looking for me. Real easy to locate when they are at your doorstep.... [e digicons]:)[/e]
It sounds interesting, but I think I'll wait for the reviews.
I think I know where MS got the inspiration for it's icons. <img src="data:image/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAAOMAAADeCAMAAAD4tEcNAAAA81BMVEX80Rb///8AAAD/2Bf/1hH/1BYnIANmVQmMfEVeTgj/0xY7MQU5LwWMdRSOfkX/2hf1yxXvxhXatRPnwBT2zBXeuBNBNgbsxBV0YApFOQaqjQ9NQAfIphHtwwD2ywDdtxOBawsyKQTCoRGSeQ0hGwOsjw8YFAJTRQcuJgTQrRKagA3FpBHjugB7Zgu5mRAlHwMKCQFrWQkeGQN1cmmIio56eXWTlZughQ5pXz4TEAJtaFnx8/fk5utpZ2HBxMycnJyztr+KiIOPgVWEbyCclHqalYhxa1WanaZ3ZiaSh2V/cUW4ur+kpqhkX1FycnJpZVlqYU
IMO, everything about the whole modern/flat look is hideous. It reminds me of the interface of a child's play computer I saw back in the late nineties. I guess they've decided to cut back on graphic artist costs. If Win 10 allows skinning, I would buy a product that completely changes everything about the gui. Hint and wink, SD....
I agree that GC3 galaxy feels restrictive relative to GC2.
Does anyone know when Win 10 will be available "for free", or was the announcement far in advance of the actual offer?
looks like there are way too many old farts on the internet.
Someone has to keep the young whipper snappers in line... [e digicons]:)[/e] But, we need some criteria for "old fart" status. Here's one. You're old if you've ever played this game. [e digicons];)[/e] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pong
How about the paperclip?
Downloaded and installed as well. The title-bar issue seems to be fixed. Although, with some skins, Windows explorer isn't displaying properly. I'm sure that has more to do with the individual skin than WB, but I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this. Also, my system start up time seems to have increase a bit.

It has been my personal experience that most company's that claim to be meritocracy are in reality operating under the same old company politics as usual. It's just something they put in their marketing/PR material
The UI seems much improved as well, and the terrain is a bit more crisp. And, most importantly, the unit selection and movement squares are much more visible. The art and UI team(s) have really done a good job.
Yea, I agree with this. Maybe it's my old eyes, but in some games, when the scenery is too busy, the units almost appear to blend into/become camouflage with the back
Thats not really a good analogy. My request is not the equivelent of asking comany A to sell me a product from compamy B. Rather, I'm asking company A to change a feature on one of its own products. And yes, I did bring this issue up on a Steam forum. When I did a seach, I found a number of threads that were already discussing the exact same topic and expressing disappointment with it. I brought the issue up on this forum as well because I fel
It seems to me that the gaming industry is taking the position that every customer is a potential pirate, and that's just sad.
So you're saying the consumer doesn't have the right to express disappointment with a product or service? Are you effectively saying that the actions and choices made by the gaming industry is beyond reproach? If that view is commonly held, it would seem that the gaming industry has an entitlement issue of its own... which is ironic considering how often the term entitlement gamer is used in this forum.</span
of course, you could then ask why digital distribution ain't cheaper than physical media.. outside of nutty sales (provided the physical media ain't just a disc for steamworks/uplay/origin, etc)
This brings up a good point. Just what is the value of a game? The answer of course is "whatever the market will bear". Clearly value for games is very flexible. Why else would a developer be
I haven't received the new computer yet. Ill definitely let everyone know what happens when I set it up. You made a number of excellent points! Thanks!
Quoting Borg999, reply 11 Yea, I hope you're right.
Here's another idea. How about allowing someone to transfer a license to another person. Person A transfers the license to person B. Person A can no longer play the game, but person B to whom the license was transferred, can. Of course, now that the media is digital rather than physical, the person who purchased the game doesn't actually own one copy of it.
I don't believe it's ever been mentioned that it was made to play games from 1 library at the same time by multiple people. To me, it sounds like you want it to be something different than it is and are blaming Valve that it isn't. *shrug* Do you see where publishers/developers would lose money if everybody just started sharing accounts and nobody was paying for the games they played anymore?
It depends on how many people are using the family option. Like this doesn't affect me at all.
So, you're saying that my situation is very unusual, like I'm a Fringe user of Steam? [e digicons][/e]
I don't see anything wrong with it.
Yea, I don't expect anyone at SD to say anything negative about Steam. Biting the hand that feeds you, and such. I was just hoping I could play SD games without being limited by their draconian Family Share restrictions.
That specific question you refer to (which I had quoted for a reason...) seems to apply to the 2nd Steam account (Not the Main one, with the games): "Yes. You must be online to access and play games which are shared with you " Doesn't say the 1st/Main account needs to be online though.
Yea, I hope you're right.
