Added couple new items and did couple more photoshop images of improvement ideas.

I was just thinking about the Star Base defense problem and suddently it hit me. Should star bases upgrade their defences automaticly when you research the techs? Maybe this has been suggested before, but I think everybody can agree, that later on the game SB defenses are pretty much useless. If they would get the defences/offences immidiately after your research the techs, they would last longer to the game?
I think civ4 had something like this and it worked well. Iam just afraid that with DA new planet icons (agents, hazardous enviroments) the planets area is pretty full of icons alrdy. Maybe putting all the icons on a box above the planet could be a solution for this?
Aha! I knew there was something wrong with the ship battles, just could not put my finger to what it was. Good find, lets hope there is new beta next week that fixes this
I actually was excited about this spy event. It completely halted my main enemy Yor and gave me time to build up my defenses. Yor had spammed the galaxy with colony ships and controlled over 50% of habitable worlds. Its good that mega events actually bite the biggest nation and gives the weaker a chance. Well atleast this mega event did in my current game
I have experienced those weird rebellion icons on ships too. I have reported this to gc2bugs@stardock.com and hopefully they are looking into this. One other thing that I think is a bug. When your ally attacks another civ the screen pops up which says "We are going to help you with your war etc". This happens even if the player is not in war with anybody.
I do actually watch land combat since they dont take too much time. My point is that all the other graphics in GC2 are really nice but the land combat looks terrible. We have eye watering ship graphics and explosion but the land combats look like something a 10y old kid could draw. They jump up in a bad way, in my mind. I would like to turn the question around. How much of the time do people play with zoomed in graphics? They arent so relevant to the game either since most of t
Yeah I second these ideas. There are several things bad in current land combat gfx. First of all its pretty damn ugly Secondly when the tanks etc explode its like the whole animation is fast forwarder! I wrote long time ago that there should be different graphics for different invasion tactics. As chazzie wrote, show me gas on the screen when I gas the planet <img src="http://images.st
I always play on all civs @ Tough difficulty.
Some new race logos and portrait pictures would be nice too. Not too hard to add them manually, but some people are lazy
I was just wondering how much new graphics we are going to get with DA final build? I sure hope the land combat graphics have been redoned completely. In my mind the new ship graphics and explosions are quite good but for example the land combats can hardly be called cool. There could be tons of sweet gfx eye candy in land combat animations, but as it is, I just watch how the numbers go down. There is hardly any variation in land combats, I quess thats my main whine here. Ship combat s
Anybody else noticed that Drath AI is not so hot on building military? They were my main opponent in my last game but they hardly builded any ships. They only begun building up at the very last moment after my attack. Basicly their planets were not defended at all and it was way too easy to beat them. This is with the latest DA beta 2B.
Merry Xmas!! Removed couple suggestions as they are were not good. If atleast one of the suggestions would get into DA it would be a nice xmas gift!

Reported this with screen shots and saved games to gc2bugs@stardock.com about a week ago. Forgot to write this to the forums :/ I hope this is fixed in next beta and more hopefully that will be available today But it seems OP bug is bit different. After I selected Neutral ethic my PQ 14 planet had just 11 tiles to use. Maybe OP should post hes saved games too to the devs, just to make sure. <br/
Hmm has somebody thought about slot system for ships? Bit similiar that Mech Warrior games had. IE. Medium ship hull would have 2 engine slots while large could have 3 or so. It worked great for mech warrior, dunno if it would work with GC2.
If the AI does not allocate its rightful ability points I see that as giving player unfair advantage. Ok maybe its too much to ask for elaborate system for AI to pick its abilities, but atleast it should use them randomly if nothing else.
I also noticed, that I could place spies on planets under the rule of "super spy" race. I think you should not be able to do that.
I asked this in another thread but I do not think I ever got an straight answer. It just caucht my eye couple days ago that all the AI seem to be using Federalist as their political party. My question is, does AI in Dark Avatar use its left over ability points when you create a new game. If it does, does AI just assign them randomly or is there any logic into it? Example drengi could choose more militaristic bonuses while good races would choose diplomacy and research etc.
Reseting browser cache/cookies can help at times, actually thats what SD suggested with GC2 forum quirks some time ago I do feel like PR guy for the FF, but the matter of fact is that I have had far less issues with FF than IE. I have about 50 bookmarks or so with around 20 forums/login/shop sites and zero problems.
Few edits here and there, some updates on list based on DA Beta 2A. Ps. I see no major UI updates/changes since the beta has started. Maybe in January you could give some love to UI once the major bugs are squashed? I find it hard to believe, other people have no issues with the UI, give some feedback
I tried to replace a factory with an fusion reactor. Result: empty square on planet and no more reactors can be build. Sent a bug report gc2bugs@stardock.com
Theres also a similiar bug when you zoom as close as you can to a miner which is mining an asteroid.
really doubt that the devs would include things like this, don't you? Please don't tell me you would be that naive. That was actually me trying to be funny, but as usual in the Internet its tought sometimes to give the right signal. Well Iam going to drag my non constructive moaning out from this thread. Hopefully we see new beta tomor
Nothing against humor personally. I tried to say that this thread should be in different sub forum. Maybe "game talk" or some other. Not to sound too uptight, but I understanded this sub forum was place to give developers new ideas how to enchant the game. Not to trash previous beta testers, but do people remember in what state the GC2 was when it was released? Example the UI had quite significant short comings in it. Now I was not part of that beta and do not know how serious
