Well, I have a 512 and a 2Gb Sandisk Cruzer Micro, and they work great for me. What I usually do (I'm only using the larger drive on a day-to-day basis right now) is copy the contents of the drive to my personal computer's hard drive every couple of weeks. I don't think it's very likely that I would lose the stick or break it at the same time that my hard drive crashes. It coult happen, but I don't foresee it being a strong possibility. For s

That's a weird subtitle, I know, but I was pondering what connections exist between these two games beyond the fact that I recently completed the single-player campaigns in both. Both are real-time strategy games that attempt to bring some innovations to the genre. Land-based combat in both is heavily invested in the concept of
warreni - OP said he installed all of the ODNT apps, not trial apps. There are not trial versions of all the apps. I read that as full versions.
Zubaz, I concede your point, but I also know that sometimes newbies get OD confused with WindowBlinds and/or other components or software created by Stardock. As my high-school English teacher would have said, it's a case of metonymy. That's why I figured maybe the OP deserved the benefit of the doubt on

Hey, I realize the OP was being a bit ugly in his message, but is it not possible that he was in fact using trial versions of the software (WB, et cetera)? Does Stardock have a record of every user who downloads a demo of WindowBlinds? I'm wondering why everyone leaped to the conclusion that the OP is a software pirate.
Wonder How long will it take to install the thememanager themes I already have. Looks like it is going to be a nice alternative. Question, in the future when MyColors is fully in gear, will ThemeManager still be able to handle MyColors themes? MyColors will replace Theme Manager for applying Suites (at least the ones made by Stardock). There will be special discounts, free themes and options mad

Hm. Well, I remember the transition to XP too. However, I remember it differently. Specifically, I was running Windows 98 at home because that was the latest and greatest prior to XP (if you note that I'm leaving out the so-called "Millennium Edition," it wasn't an accident). However, 98 was buggy as hell and that was the only reason I even contemplated the possibility of upgrading to ME, which was purely an aesthetic makeover. Having used
They don't need to purchase ODNT or any of the apps in ODNT. You don't need WB or Icon Packager to run themes? A friend of mine was interested in a collage theme I told him he would need to install WB and IP.
ALMonty, As long as you're referring to a MyColors theme (and I don't think there are any premium suites that are college-themed at the moment), then, no, your friend would
Will it use only "for sale" themes or will there be free themes? I am assuming that this is something different than theme manager; is it? Or is it just a theme manager for the less technical customer?
Larry, The idea behind MyColors is that the user purchases an individual theme for a fixed price that includes all components (WB skin, icons, wallpapers, gadgets) and the runtimes needed for those components to func
So basically all it is, is selling suites for $20 but calling it a new name? Or am I missing something? If every one has the same software included surely its wrong to charge for it again? So you are knowingly selling the same stuff over and over again and condoning it as people 'don't even have to know that they are "re-buying" it over and over again.'
Wom, I popped by one of the CompUSA stores here in Denver a few days ago to see what bargains were up for grabs. Everything and I mean everything was discounted to sell. I was looking for a new wireless keyboard and mouse but when I compared their discounted prices with some of the offerings in Bestbuy, nearby, I found that I got a better deal in Bestbuy. I picked up a Microsoft 4000/5000 bundle for 50 bucks.......these sell at about 90 bucks elsewhere. Whilst in Bestbuy I spoke to some o
Finally... a skin worth installing WindowBlinds for. There's an obvious deficit in such attractive and usable skins. I miss the days of Treetog.
If I'm not mistaken, DNA-Groove, Treetog works for Stardock Design now . . . so, good news for everybody. :HOT:

Glad you're intermittently back, anyway. :) I'm personally a bit leery of doing a Vista upgrade. I suspect it would be cheaper(?) and certainly more stable to get a new Vista-ready box with the OS preloaded. That way at least I know all the components are designed to work with Vista. By the time I spent money on the software, a bigger HDD, and more system RAM, I'm basically talking about the cost of a relatively-inexpensive PC. <

Unfortunately, that doesn't really help me because the problem is with my home computer. I don't remember whether I tested a default flyout last night, but I'll try this when I get home this evening and let you know. Actually, I'll probably ju

I've been fiddling with OD over the last few weeks, and I started creating a custom flyout menu last night, but it doesn't seem to work. What I mean is that I will right-click on the dock and select "Add->New Flyout Menu", the dialog box pops open and I select a custom menu instead of a preprogrammed menu like "My Documents", I name the menu, add shortcut items to it, and close the dialog box. When I roll over the menu on the dock, it magnifies and t

He literally smoked until the day he died, and it wasn't a nice way to go. His wife preceded him in death many years earlier (I don't remember her at all), also due to smoking-related illness. My wife smokes too. She and my brother are the only ones in the family who do. I quit pushing her to quit a few years ago; in the m

Another thought occurred to me (several in one day!): Don't Theme Manager and MyColors have overlapping functions? Are there plans in the works to merge these two apps? I know we've had a lot of issues historically with the two not getting along very well, and it seems as though it would make sense for OD '08 to include one or the other but not both as separate, independent entities.
