6. Suggestion: Provide some way to quickly pick colony rally points. If after sorting the colony management screen by ship type, I could go thru the list and pick rally points, that would be ideal -- a "quick pick pop up" similar to what is available for ships or improvements. This would allow for quick and easy rallying of troops behind the front line, or managing multip

The way the assists work is like this: For Attack Assist, You need at least one weapon on your ship. It doesn't matter what category it is. You will receive an assist in whatever category the module assists. Likewise, for Defense Assist, You need at least one defense on your ship. It doesn't matter what category it is . You will receive an assist in whatever category the module assists. For example: Ship A : Attack Beam: 0
Most of the time your saved games will be in your /My Documents/My Games/Galciv2 folder. Please send your games to gc2bugs@stardock.com and include a link back to this forum thread in your message. Thanks.
You have to begin a game by clicking the Metaverse button on the main menu. Then you log into the metaverse. At the end of the game, after you click Done on the summary screen, you will be asked if you want to submit your score. If you saved and reloaded the game, you will be asked to log in to the metaverse when you submit your score at the end of the game.
Please uninstall the game, and then reinstall the game, and then the patch. It sounds like some files were missing (like Lib3d.dll) The GC2Launch.exe problem you describe is usually caused by Mcaffee VirusScan thinking that the launch program script is a virus. If you have this (or another virus scan program), try disabling the virus scan or telling it to ignore gc2launch.exe. The activate.exe program won't do anything once you've already activated your product, so it
Mikeswi's suggestion is good. Move or rename your prefs.ini file. This will make your game revert to default settings. Can you run your galciv2.exe file directly? If so, you may want to check your shortcut and see if it has a w parameter at the end of it. For example : Shortcut Target: "C:\program files\stardock\totalgaming\galciv2\galciv2.exe" w Change that to Shortcut Target: "C:\program files\stardock\totalgaming\galciv2\galciv2.exe" If
Have you tried beta 2 of version 1.2? There was a problem in beta 1 that caused this kind of behavior. You may need to recreate your ships in the new version, however, I have heard of cases where the jewelry reappeared in the new beta.
Hobbes277, Do you have any autosaves or saved games before this happened? I've seen the posts about this bug and have tried many times to get it to reproduce, but cannot. There must've been something which either took a huge amount away from you or gave you such a huge amount that your money went negative ( like an odometer rolling over back to zero ) Can you think of any random events that happened before you noticed this? Were there any trades made with t
Thanks for reporting this one. If you don't mind I have a couple questions. Have you updated to version 1.11? There was an issue in older versions where tiles were not given but quality was increased. Version 1.11 fixes this. If you do have version 1.11 (or later): Does this only affects planets you conquer AFTER you've aligned as neutral? Or did you conquer them, then get the neutral alignment? Can you please post your debug.err file? This file can be found i
They really didn't mention any graphical improvements except simple explosions Simple explosions were just one of the many graphical improvements in version 1.2. There have also been some major improvements to the way the ships were handling their graphics data in version 1.2. This has improved the performance in both the main m
1. I would like the mini-display to update after a battle instead of having to click on a fleet again to update them. 2. I would like to see the ship display window update hitpoints after a battle without having to click on the fleet/ship to get them to update. As long as the ship or fleet remains selected, the context area will be upd
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. You are correct in that the individual settings are getting overriden by the difficulty selector at the bottom when the game is started. That is a bug. It is supposed to work like this: You pick your base difficulty with the bottom one. This changes all of the enabled civs to that difficulty. Then you can edit each one individually. (As you do this, the bottom difficulty selector will adjust to the new difficulty levels,
Norad, what version of the game are you using? Have you updated to version 1.11?
Check your options screen. Go to the Interface tab. There is a section called "Display Options" with options like "Show Grid," Show Auto-pilot lines", etc. Check to see if these have become unchecked. There are sliders for background stars and nebulae. You may need to readjust those too. There is an option under the "Video" tab labelled "Disable Point Sprites." Make sure that is unchecked. If you still have trouble, please post your debug.err file (found in your c:/program files/s
What version of the game are you using? Have you tried it with 1.11? 1.2 beta?
Please upgrade to the new 1.2 beta 2. The missing jewelry bug has been fixed.
I had a few questions about this. Did you get the message about the planet flipping? Were you able to then get to the planet screen? When did it crash? What was the order of events? Thanks.
Go to the Options screen and go to the Interface tab. There you'll see a section for "Battle Options" The battle length option determines the type of battle played for one on one battles. Change this to "Full Battles" to view them in the viewer. For battles involving fleets, check the "Full fleet battles" option to watch them in the viewer. You can try different combinations of the options to get the viewer to come up when you like it. If you want to watch every
Do you have a saved game from before this? If so, please email it to gc2bugs@stardock.com with a link back to this forum thread. Please provide any extra information you can (like steps needed to reproduce the crash if any). Thank you.
Lamplighter, That problem sounds like it is the same problem I fixed. It did have to do with the order of ships after a ship is destroyed, which looks like what happened at the end of the first round (a defender died).
2) If you have an interstellar government and trade "attack %civ%" to someone else, you can declare war on somebody without the senate voting first. Not really a problem, since the senate goes my way anyway, but I can't imagine it's supposed to do that. You must've had control of the senate. If you do not have control of the senate
Not sure if this is a bug but here it is: I just started a new campaign on 'normal' difficulty with the beta installed (no mod). I just completed the third or fourth mission and there's been lots of space battles. I think I've fought 30 or 40 Drenghi Defender class ships (maybe more). I have not seen ONE shot fired back at me so far. The combat summary shows shots fired,
FOOL, You may want to try updating your drivers. That may help you to see the fog and lines. I found the source of the camera angle distortion, and fixed it. The next update should not have this problem. Thanks everyone for reporting this.
Diamond Geezer, I checked your case and took a look at your saved game. I was able to reproduce the problem on my machine. The problem has been fixed for the next update. Thanks for letting us know that this was still happening.
Your debug.err file shows you are version 1.0.X.2 Please update to version 1.11 and see if you experience the same problem. Thank you.
