It looks like some of the .dxpack files did not install correctly. Please try re-installing, rebooting, then starting the game. Thank you.

I can confirm that the issue has been resolved and the fix will be part of the next update.
It sounds like the game may have some trouble with the German locale settings when it comes to fleet formation files. Can you please try changing the regional settings of your OS to English and see if that corrects these problems? Also, please post the contents of your debug.err file. This file can be found in c:\program files\stardock\totalgaming\galciv2. Thank you.
would clicking the windows key still do the same thing? because I don't have any issues with fullscreen mode and the mouse. Yes, the mouse is free to move anywhere once the game is no longer the active program. So hitting the windows button, or alt tab, or even another window grabbing the focus will free the mouse again. Jourdelune, Please change your regional settings in Windows to English before starting the game. That should fix the problem. There is a problem in the way commas and periods are interpreted when using non-English settings.
Ion, Please post the contents of your debug.err file here. There is most likely some information in it that will help us to help you. This file can be found in C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2 Open the file in any text editor, like Notepad, copy the contents (CTRL+C) and paste them in a reply here (CTRL+V). Thank you.
I checked the code for this screen and the related code for the most powerful ship. It is not the case that the value was not cleared. The strongest ship only gets set if the civ actually has possession of that ship, so DreadArchon's theory is most likely correct. Although it wasn't very nice of them to not share it with you
Did this happen everytime or just one specific time? Is it repeatable? If so, how can it be repeated? Do you have an autosave that might reproduce this problem? If so, please send it to gc2bugs@stardock.com with a link back to this thread in your message. Thank you.
If that does not fix the problem, please post the contents of your debug.err file here. This file is located in c:\program files\stardock\totalgaming\galciv2. If you haven't already, please make sure your drivers are up to date. Thank you.
Please uninstall and reinstall the game. Then try restarting the computer after installing before starting the game. On some computers, the fonts do not get loaded if you directly start the game after installing without restarting the computer first. If that does not help, please locate the debug.err file in c:\program files\stardock\totalgaming\galciv2. Open it in notepad and copy the contents of the file. Then paste the files into your post here. Thank you.

Starlost, Please check the Options screen/Interface tab. There is an option under "Ship Designer" labeled "Rotate Parts" You can change this to choose the size of the angle increments you would like to use, or set to "Freely" to allow you to choose any angle you want. Chrsikrusz is correct in that you can use the mouse wheels to set the dials too. However, the mouse wheel will move the dial in the increments set on the option screen, so if you want fu

Deleting the files in the my documents/my games/galciv2/ships and my documents/my games/galciv2/metaverse/ships will remove the ships from the game. If you reload a game that has the ships, they will be restored.
Please check your Tactical Map Zoom Level setting in the Options menu. It sounds like it is turned down so that the map is always in tactical/icon mode.
It looks like your sphere.x file is missing. This file should be located in galciv2/gfx/models. Please try reinstalling the game to make sure you get this file. If you still have this problem after a reinstall, please let us know. Thank you.
If you save and reload the game, does this occur? If so, please send us your save game ( gc2bugs@stardock.com ) If it doesn't, please post the contents of your debug.err file. It may provide a clue as to why this is happening. This file can be found in C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2. Does it seem to only happen when upgrading a starbase, or does it also happen after starbases are attacked, or uncovered from fog? Did you put those 8 modules on all at once, or individual
