I'll try a game with it modded. Move it up earlier in the tech tree and increase the bonus. A flat 25% increase for all ships sounds right to me.

I totally agree with the UI issues. Hopefully, Frogboy will be addressing this in 1.2. I also would like better documentation (who wouldn't?) in the form of a pdf or so. Hidden bonuses, economic explanations, etc. As for the campagain, I don't play campagains period. Sandbox mode holds all the appeal for me. The last great video game campagain I played was Starcraft (and Brood War ). And if Hollywood can't seem to put out good movies these days, we really can't expe
Korx, demanding tribute: Have you ever considered refinancing your homeworld? We have... Terran, offering a peace treaty: Come on! Don't be a hater! Drath, angry: Don't mess with me today. I'm shedding.
The frequency of all random events has been reduced in 1.1. You still get them, just not as much.
Yor, defeated: You know? I came here with a dream. A simple dream. A dream of killing all humans. And now that dream is dead. Thalan: Yes, we're from the future. And no, we won't give you stock tips.
Thalan: We'll crush you like the bugs we are! Iconian: We do not worship Cthullu! We worship Gods so awesome and terrifying that you can not even comprehend their names until you've read the Necrominicon in the original Iconian. Terran, after the Yor give them something: I'd like to thank you Mr Roboto... Thalan: Make this quick. My wife is pregnant and I need to file for divorce her before she gets around to eating me.
Korx: Some would say we don't care who are clients are. Some would say that we sell even the galaxy's most ruthless terrorists Terror Stars. We would say: It's never been a better time to invest in Terror Star insurance! Korx: Some would say we would sell weapons to the Drengin even while they were using them to conquer us. We would say: Going out on Business Sale! Everything must go! Drengin: We would annihilate you Human, but then Terran Fried Chicken would go out of
Luck, everytime, all the time. And morale too.
I have the same problem occassionaly. It because my older machine heats up pretty quickly. I just pull it out a little and put on my ceiling fan to increase air circulation. It saves fine when the machine has cooled down. Are you trying to save a new game or an older game? If the game was started during an earlier patch, it won't work well with 1.1 final.
Can't they fix that somehow? I know it's a petty complaint, but it's annoying. if you don't want to close your planet screen, click on the improvement on the planet grid, it'll tell you how long it will really take to build. Still, 1.1 rules.
+ Iconians are now good (were neutral). How can you explain this in light of the "consider themselves heirs to the Dread Lords" flavor text ? And what about creating the Yor? </T
I would pay the $9 for the ship pack, provided it was large and significant. But I don't doubt Stardock will make it worth our while. I do understand that it would be tempting to not include at least some of the ship pack in the expansion, so perhaps Stardock can offer people who purchased the ship pack a $9 rebate on the expansion? I think the the ship pack would need to include seperate models for each race. I would also like t
In my latest game (beta4 .18) I've noticed that the Ai has been building lots of transports, grouping them with escorts, and parking them outside of potential enemys' territory. I think evil civilizations are still viable as long as you don't go for the mass invasion strategy. I use my free starbase upgrades to pump out influence starbases all over my borders. I wait for the good guys to be distracted (or pay them off) and then take out one
I totally agree with #s 2 + 7.
I like your idea about the courage "slider". I don't like multi-turn invasion, though. I would prefer a modifier representing the natives willingness to fight to the death. If the population had a sufficently low courage modifier, they wouldn't fight hard, giving up after taking minor losses, or not fight at all. The courage modifier is modified by: 1)The courage racial pick 2)Morale (or lack of) 3)Cultural influence- a w
I'm suffering chronic freeze ups with Beta 4. The machine overheats and locks up when the game saves, forcing a manual restart. And occasionally it just freezes as well. None of this occured in Beta 3b and earlier. And to #323: Don't be a jerk. Beta 4 makes everybody's machine crash. Betas are not very well bug tested. That's why they're betas, not final products. Most game companies don't provide any support AT ALL. Don't bitch
Never mind what I said earlier. I've been suffering those intolarable freeze ups all day, even with my battery fully charged.
GC2 overheats very badly on my laptop- but only when it's charging the battery while I play. I didn't have the problem in 1.0X (I'm running Beta 4 currently). Is it possible that the throttling feature was disable in the beta patches?
No, I'm just an avid gamer who wants games to be perfect. And by the way, thanks for the compliments. I did get A++ in English in high school. " Boni " is not a word. What country did you learn English in? <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="mb-Body-Quo
I've had to disable autosave on my machine. It always over heats and freezes up, forcing a manual restart during the intial autosave. Beta 4 runs fine overwise. Frogboy, Stardock crew, Is it possible to reduce that intial save time (both auto and manual)? It takes 10 minutes literally for an initial manual save on my 2.66 Ghz, 770 megs Ram machine.
Ignore this comment. I moved it to Beta 4 Reports thread.
Rygel is correct. The spending bar reflects how many of your people you're putting to work, and the division bars indicate how many of those people are working in each field. This is how it works in real life. Think about why something would be that way before you call it a bug.
The +10% production bonus due to the presence of a moon still does not work. I've seen reports that ALL planetary-based military production bonuses are not working, but have not tested this. What about the rings? Do they work? I think they do, but I can't really say for sure.
Runemaster: Auto-launch was a feature in GCI but it wasn't very useful because it launched colony ships and transports with the wrong number of people on them. So maybe that's why they don't have it here. But in GalCiv2, numbers on colony and transports are limited by # of modules. So using auto-laun
Does anyone know if moons and rings are actually providing their corresponding bonuses? I haven't seen it. Also, the social production race pick doesn't seem to work. Nor I find bonuses in effect when I play as the Industrialist or Pacifist parties. Or am I not understanding the economic system? The "Do you want to upgrade this starbase" box doesn't center the minimap on the starbase either.
