cnlevo: I agree with yrag - I'd look to SpyBot as the culprit. First, try uninstalling WB5 in its entirety. Maybe even use the OD zapper (the link is elsewhere on this thread). Reboot. Unload/disable the Tea Timer (if you are using it) and try again. If that doesn't work try uinstalling Spybot and reinstalling WB5 after a reboot. ronw1961: I may be way off base here, but I think you're venting your spleen at the wrong person. I'm pretty sure that Corky is an end user like the rest of

PS I have just e-mailed Tenebril support to get their perspective on this issue. I haven't bothered until now because I was so fed up after spending two fruitless weeks trying to install WB5 that I just didn't care. After two subsequent weeks of smooth operation with WB5 installed, I can see more clearly the fact that having spent $50 on GhostSurf less than 8 months ago I am being a bit cavalier! This is a problem that must be resolved, I can see no reason for WB and GS Platinum not to

All right... I finally got around to creating an image of my c: drive and reinstalling Ghostsurf 2005 Platinum. I rebooted and WB 5 wasn't loaded! The "this computer must be rebooted to complete installation" problem had returned. I played around with the settings in GhostSurf and disabled and removed any services that I could find associated with it and rebooted - no joy. nobodyzsukey, my advice is to pick which of the two apps is more important to you and forget about the other. I

Hi nobodyzsukey, If you have Stardock Central loaded - fire it up and provide it with the serial numbers that it asks for. Then, go to the "Object Desktop" pane, which can be reached from a link at the top right of the SDC screen and you*should* see WB 4.6 listed as a component that you can install. If you haven't purchased Object Desktop, WB 4.6 will be the only one that doesn't say "shareware" after it... Anyway, on to your question about getting rid of the Tenebril

Hi Maxest, Thanks for your reply - I have tried dragging the icons and they won't budge. I'll check to settings for Quicklaunch and see if they're set to it being launched or not. [EDIT] I'm using the latest beta for OB 2 which is 1.99e[b].002. It *appears* from reading other threads that sorting the quick launch bar is not possible in OB 2, at least the betas.

Is there any way to re-order the icons in the QuickLaunch area of ObjectBar? I'm running the latest beta of 1.99 under WinXP Pro Sp-2. Thank you, Mike

Ok, I exaggerate, but it is noticeably slower switching to desktop view via clicking on the show desktop icon in ObjectBar than it is doing the same from the regular Windows taskbar. Anyone seeing this and, if so, is there a setting that can be changed or a workaround to speed this up? WinXP Pro Sp-2 on a Centrino notebook with a gig of RAM.

I have just purchased an ObjectDesktop subscription and am having difficulty running a number of the applications. They won't open but return an error stating that they can't find obzip.dll in either the Common Files/Stardock folder or in the ObjectDesktop/xxx folder. I have confirmed that these files are in fact present. Further, I have tried this with objectzip installed and uninstalled and, when installed, set as the default zip file handler. I have also tried uninstalling/reinstalling the ap

I have just purchased and installed ObjectDesktop (upgraded from WB 5) and am having trouble with ThemeManager. Specifically, when I try to load it I get an error message about OBZip.dll not being found. I have ObjectZip installed and OBZip.dll is correctly installed in the Common Files\StarDock folder in Program Files. Further, I am able to open and run OBZip archive without error and have ok'd setting OBZip as the default handler for zip files. I *do* have WinRar 3.51 and StuffIt Deluxe 9.1

I have sdmcp.exe running and both " mcp notification area support" and "smart start" enabled in SDC. I have the latest build of ObjectDock Plus 1.2 installed and Object Desktop. Neither ObjectBar nor ObjectDock will display any system tray items. Searching the forums I note that trayserver.exe may be a factor in this and I can confirm that it does not exist on my system. I've pulled my hair out having SDC uninstall/reinstall the various components and rebooting with no luck.</

Hi all, I was *just* about to format my harddrive and try again when I had a change of heart (couldn't face reinstalling everything) and went looking for *anything* that might be causing this. Well, I found it: Tenebril's SpyCatcher installs a service called Tenebril Antispyware Satellite which its uninstaller apparenty does not remove. I had to go into my registry and cut it out manually. I had installed this as part of the GhostSurf Platinum 2005 suite. Thus, when I uninstal

I've just gone through a grueling cycle of uninstalling all of my security applications in turn and having Stardock Central install WB 5 after each uninstallation (which also included zapping WB off my system as well after each app was uninstalled as well), rebooting, reinstalling WB 5 via SDC and rebooting again. No dice - the reboot to complete installation dialog is just like the frigging energizer bunny! I didn't uninstall AVG Pro but disabled all of its services and startup beh

Well, predictably, that hasn't worked. The RegDefend update had the added bonus of resetting everything related to it so I can see what write attempts were made/blocked/allowed to the registry and note that not only wasn't anything blocked from Stardock/WindowsBlinds, none have been recorded at all. I guess RegDefend can be crossed off my list, though if you read back through the thread you'll note that I've been through 'em all, a number of times.

I've had a chance to play with my system over the last couple of days and have discovered that this behaviour only occurs if AW is started AFTER WB. I unloaded WB, started up AW and then reloaded WB (and loaded up a custom skin) and all is well. If I shutdown AW and restart it with WB running, the problem reappears. Mike

Bummed. I successfully installed WB 5 without the installation error mentioned above and rebooted as instructed. I was delighted when my machine booted up into the default WB theme (?). Anyway, tweaked everything back to where I had had it the last time and thought "Hmm. Better reboot to see if it's working". Nope. Booted back into Windows Classic and trying to run WB resulted in the installation dialog popping up informing me that I must first reboot my computer. Back to the

I have the same problem too! However, I have found that I can install and run the app without reboot if I disable ALL my security apps (AVG 7.1 Pro, Zone Alarm Pro, SpySweeper, RegDefen, SpyCatcher, WinPatro). Unfortunately, I can only get through one reboot before WB reverts back to insisting that I reboot. If I disable all the apps that I mentioned and do repair installation, I can run it agai

Hi, I purchased WB 5 last night and love it. However, I have begun to notice some conflicts with ActiveWords. Specifically, when running both AW and WB 5 the various AW components (e.g. AWFeedback.exe) peg the processor at 100% and stay there. I have to kill them via TaskManager to solve the problem. Anyone else seeing this and is there a workaround? I've tried setting WB to ignore all of the AW components, but it hasn't helped ,even after a reboot. Thanks,

I'm experimenting with having ObjectDock take the place of the taskbar/system tray completely. I've solved most of my problems but have a lingering one with WinTasks. Specifically, it locks up and is useless when run with the System Tray tab running. Anyone else have any experience with this? Mike I *thought* I had found the answer in switching to a normal dock (rather than a tabbed one) but the i
