My argument (to keep things in a simple context) would be that the Oracle and Architect were right that Trinity was going to die. By extension, Neo had already made the choice she was going to die by attempting to protect her by asking her to stay out of the Matrix. And she did die. What's "different" about Neo is he "saw past that choice" and was able to save her. In terms of the survival of the machines? Have you ever seen that picture of a bridge in the western US
I'm sorry that you didn't get it. I can offer lessons at a reasonable price.
Because the oracle was right, Neo had already made the choice that he was going to try and save Trinity. This was done overtly when he asked her to stay behind and his later actions continued that. She died, like everyone said she would, but he didn't accept that state of affairs. One could rationalize various explanations for how the architect went about his spiel, but it serves to highlight free will vs. predestination. There's another line from early in the film that stands
If anyone read 55 messages down, I like it.
Please note I have not seen the animatrix episodes. Which has some bearing on some of my last comments here, since I lack that background. This is a bit long. From Monday night. the first predicate is that nobody has lied it's only the truth, from a certain point of view or as far as they know persephone is the mother of the matrix, not the oracle. the architect's "please" comment of neo's "the oracle?" is entirely dismissive

T-Man has got WC News working for the moment and Stardock Central is running through a backup server. Not 100% sure every component will be happy. I don't think anything else is still down or impacted by this, but we'll keep at it.
Server rebooted. Happy now.
IIS' built-in bits are only for static files. As WC builds pages on the fly, it doesn't help. That said, T-Man has been testing a component that adds this support. But, on the WC pages, it's been getting into a "locked" condition every so often where everything stalls for 30 seconds or more. We're working with the developers of the component to track this down. It's also been enabled at various times on other websites here for testing. Including galciv.com and the ma
Those links were only tested with the default browser being Internet Explorer. They lead to the same links as the buttons on the main page of galciv.com here.
It is on GameSpot for their registered users. It's also at http://files.worthplaying.com/files/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=121 now. We'll have more links and a page with them for downloads (along with an official announcement) in the coming days.
I sketched out a design for a new version of Pong today in the conference room. Alex was not amused.
1. Health (something along the lines of Wolverine) 2. A pocket plane with a holodeck 3. A large (multi-passenger) magic carpet with a lowjack
Brad and AlexG (lead artist) will be there as attendees and to press the proverbial flesh. I'm not certain yet as to what Strategy First will be demonstrating/displaying. Perhaps an announcement of the Expansion Pak, we'll see.
We're archiving something on one of the servers and the webserver needs to be stopped while that happens. Downloading updates through Stardock Central will probably not work for a brief period of time. The standalone udpate download links and the forums should be fine. I'm not even 100% sure the SDC downloads will be impacted, but thought I would post this just in case...
At some point this evening, the library downloads for people without WC accounts will probably not be working. We're archiving them prior to bringing up a new server and there will be a little interval where the webserver is down. Forums should continue to work for everyone as well as downloads for registered users.
The license is Strategy First's standard one. That said, it's always been our position that this is your copy of the game/app. There's no copy protection to preclude you from doing desktop and laptop or home and work installs.
There is the possibility of that tech (or some of the other later ones) enabling more options in the future. The code has already been written to essentially allow events like new star systems being created, it's just not exposed anywhere.
We're looking into that error on NT4. Suspect its the IRC code at the moment.
Thank you for indicating exactly what company was trying to push that. We've seen isolated ones sneak into the popup software and will be contacting the popup provider to get those removed from our rotation. We don't want them here either.
Badblueboy, chill out. Sometimes people have difficulties with the uninstall because the log either doesn't get written or gets removed. We've never been able to reproduce it. Follow the instructions in message #7 and you should be all set. Alternatively, just remove the files in the WindowBlinds dir itself (not any of the subfolders with skins) and reinstall.
We think we've got a handle on it and are planning for an updated build to be available on Friday to resolve the preview issue.
Something in Microsoft's latest set of critical updates has broken being able to click the preview links in the WC Browser to view the full images. We're looking into it.
A whole new batch came yesterday and we worked like dogs to get them shipped out. What didn't go out yesterday is going out today and we should be all caught up. Don't think the post office was too pleased with all the containers we required. Took some pictures of what the conference room looked like afterwards. Will try to get those up somewhere.
