I've been annoyed by my icons being re-arranged many times, and i've finally found a solution to help you guys. There are many 3rd party "icon savers" that you can find a t websites like Download.com but I use one called Power Strip by Entech ( http://www.entechtaiwan.com/util/ps.shtm">Link ) . Once you simply load up the program in your taskbar, you can right-click the icon and "save icon positions" or "restore" them by using the menu. It's worked for me, it's wodnerfu

I've been beta testing Vista for a while now, and it's come a long way. I must say, though, that it still is a bit sluggish like orthocross mentioned. But nevertheless, it's coming along. I wanted to give you guys a screenshot of what it looks like to have the Aero Glass feature enabled in case some of you haven't seen it - (Click link to view): http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/1616/vistadesktop0zn.jpg P.S. If any of you here want to know more about Vista, then Pro-Netwo

You know, Firefox lets your OS skin the browser, but doesn't use the normal OS right-click menus for some reason. The strange thing is, though, it applies the regular shadows in Windows XP to them, but it cannot make the menus transparent nor can WindowFX add its own shadows to it! If it applied XP's shadows to the menus, wouldn't you think WindowFX could? Just like any other menu? Anyways, I'm getting fed-up with it so I made a post in the Firefox support forums asking if

Hi everyone, Unfortunatley, for one reason or another I always quit using WindowBlinds -- and I'm asking your help so that doesn't happen. I'm having problem because of themes that include shadows / or right-click menu transparency that I can't disable (And i need to). And, If a theme includes an ugly shellstyle, I can't use a different one because WindowBlinds uses a different system of applying them. Can I ask for help with a few things? H

I must agree, this is a very well written article, Brad. There's alot of at stake with Windows Vista, but i think many people who posted here are forgetting that we're on the brink of a huge technological change. I've been testing Windows Vista back since build 5113, i believe. It has come EONS from where it was then - back when it was still called Longhorn. Many of you are upset over the fact a 64MB video card cannot run Vista's new effects

Well, almost good news... After i got it to restore default icons, there's still a few file types that won't change no matter how hard i try. XML files always show the default icon, and HTM icons keep showing up an icon from another pack! (Umicon pack, i believe). And JPGs, BMPs, PNG files will change, but i manually have to do it each time i restore default icons - or they show up as the default icon. This is very strange!

*UPDATE* Okay, I re-built icon cache, and told it to restore Windows defaults. Then i applyed another package, and THEN i applied the default Windows XP Package. That finally worked! I now have all my default icons. I guess sometimes it takes so real persistance!

Well, after doing what you mentioned above, it's restored most of the start menu icons, and file types. But, the My Computer icons (such as hard drives, CD-drives) show the icon pack i was using. If you look at the screenshot ( Link ) it seems that Icon Packager knows what icons to apply, it just won't apply them. I'll see if i can change an icon than restore the default afterwards. In the me

Well, when i mentioned "when i first started using IP" was long ago, i've since reformatted my PC. When i open up the IP config window, it shows the default Windows XP icon pack selected. I believe it thinks i'm using the default icons right now

I believe that the start menu leaves the ghost, or artifact, if there's some kind of content on your desktop (Like i mentioned, ObjectDock) and as seldomseen said, Sysmetrix causes it, too. It seems that WindowFX should have a setting to "refresh" the desktop right after the start menu is used, that always solves the problem.

Hi everyone, I've had a problem like this for a long while, and quite frankly i'm just fed up with it right now. Whenever i use some kind of transparency effect on the start bar (Like right now, using WindowFX to make the start bar transparent) AND i use ObjectDock together, my start menu leaves a little "ghost" behind. It's the most annoying thing, and ONLY happens when ObjectDock is open. Strange! I'm sure if any of you have see

Hi everyone, i first started using IconPackager because i was having trouble restoring my default Windows XP icons. Well, IP solved the problem, until now. I'm trying to restore my default WinXP icons and it just won't do it. After double-clicking the "Default Icons" in the package list, i click okay and then it throws my icons all over (Like it would when re-building icon cache) but then i still have all of the same icons i was j

Hey everyone, I know this question has probably been answered a million times, but i have to ask one more time - i googled the forums but couldn't find anyhing on it. In a few of my skins (Like GT2 and GT3 for example), when i maximize a window, it keeps the window border after being maximized... and that really doesn't look good. Is there a way to keep the window borders from showing when a window is maximized? Because these

Here you go, it's the first result on the page. I just searched for the WindowBlinds skin named Arrow: https://www.wincustomize.com/Skins.aspx?LibID=1&view=1&sortby=4&sortdir=DESC&p=1&advanced=0&searchtxt=Arrow

Since when has v2.89 been out? (I know that WFX v3 beta is out)... on the download page it still says v2.12 is the most recent Never the less, I have the same version on both my PC's and the Enable / Disable hardware support button is showing up on my Desktop PC, but it's not showing up on my notebook. The thing that makes me angry, is that hardware support was ON, and when i pressed the button to turn it OFF by mistake, i restarted and now

Yeah, i mentioned aboove - i tried re-installing. I don't know why it still isn't showing up Maybe if there was some kind of config file to edit that turns hardware support on, that would work.

Hey everyone, I was messing around with WindowFX on my laptop, and i turned-off the hardware support (It's the setting under "Performance Advice" section) and it says to re-enable video hardware support, i can click the button below. But, ummm... the button seems to have disappeared on me. I've clicked all-over that area and no button is there. This is odd, becase on my main PC the button has always been there. I've tried re-installing but i

Hi everyone, I used to use Adobe Photoshop v9.0 to view certain files (In this case .PCX images), and i changed it to open those file types with a different program. Now, that should of changed the icon, correct? Well it didn't. It still had the Photoshop icon. So, i right-clicked the file, went to the "Icon" tab, and selected which icon i would like to change it to (The icon is in an .ICL file). But then, the icon still won't change! How ca

Hey everyone, Whenever i've used WindowBlinds (version 4 and 5) and i minimize a window, it doesn't do that little "animation" where it flickers the toolbar color until it gets to the taskbar . I've always hated this, and it sometimes keeps me using StyleXP instead of WindowBlinds. Is there a way to enable these animations with WindowBlinds? Because i hate c
