I am experiencing the same issues as thedoctor953 in reply #32. The context menu in Skype is crushed down vertically like the line height is only a few pixels. I tried excluding the application and that did not work. The only thing that fixed the problem was going back to the Microsoft Aero skin. This problem has been that way for a few versions of Skype. Turning off hardware acceleration did it! All of the control items display properly in menus and on web pages. On top of that my font rendering is smoother. I don't really notice much of a performance hit either. Thanks Incognizant. I was starting to blame many of the skins that I like for the problems until I realized that the problem was only when I was in FF.

OE Context Menu Handler Breaks System Properties in Stardock Support General Stardock Forums

I am running Vista Business Premium with all of the latest versions of the OD programs. I have ObjectEdit installed along with the Context Menu Handler. I purchased a MyColors theme and it didn't play well with OD. I recommend that Stardock provide either an installer that recognizes installed OD applications and does not install the run-time versions or release the same themes as premium themes. I love the sports themes, but I spent several hours fixing up the mess MyColors caused with OD. I still have a problem with the logoff background of my theme. MyColors is a great way for Stardock to introduce Joe User to skinning and themes.

I recently purchased the Iowa State University theme from MyColors and I expected a typical .theme file. Instead I received some scaled down versions of the OD applications. Once I waded through the files, I was able to install the theme and its gadgets. My problem is that I would like to remove the weather gadget from my taskbar. Unlike widgets, there is no menu option to remove it from my taskbar. I tried to import it into my current DX theme, but DX3 did not like the file format. <

So it sounds like there are reasons to upgrade to Vista after all. I am still concerned about having legacy applications work. It is a great relief to know that Object Desktop will function well under Vista, because it is one set of applications that I cannot live without.

Skintool Crashes in RightClick WinCustomize Forums

I have 1.10a.006 of RightClick installed. Last night I tried to run Skintool so I could tweak my menu slightly, but it crashed. It reports, "Skintool has encountered a problem and needs to close...." I suspected the run-time version of .NET 2.0 so I ran a repair on it. .NET 2.0 appears to be properly installed. It worked fine two weeks ago. What could be going on here? Are there any other dependencies Skintool has? Mark

I have never lost a program when switching desktops except for Firefox once or twice going away. I have to get into taskmgr and kill it then restart it, but it has never happened to any other program. I just wrote it off to some Firefox oddities. Mark

Vince: I'm glad that you are stepping in. I was beginning to think that I was alone on my dependence for SVD. I keep checking SDC every hour for it. I really hope that Brad or someone posts it soon. It is killing my productivity. The only archived version I have is the last build which hangs when switching windows. Let's hope that it is soon. Mark

Sean: You may have upgraded a few days after it was first released. Those of us that are having problems downloaded the program the first day it was available.
