Indeed Cyberworld, hence my initial statement: no conclusions, more many possibilities. I described one idea that I had regarding the lack of free will, but also have ideas of its existence. The existence of a being which allows free will, the God Phenomenon as you stated is one idea; another is the existence of variables of pure randomness within the equations of the universe; and furthermore ideas which I have yet to explore. Each idea is but a th

Thank you for the link Citizen bootasven....so did you come to any conclusion as to your philosophical questions? I'd be glad to hear it. Cyberworld - not really any conclusions, its more many possibilities. The one thought I like to throw at people is this one regarding free will: Basing

Read ancient greek tragedies by Euripides or Sophocles, that surely builds up the most interesting questions. Thanks Cyberworld I will take a look at it. For anyone interested in ancient and non-ancient stories and philosophy, such as Euripides or Sophocles, you can read them at this great site: http:

I write a lot but not for myself but rather my employ. I prefer to lose myself in the thoughts of philosophy, specifically the ideas of metaphysics, and the ideas of free will vs "fate". I really enjoy debating philisophical ideas with the hope of either opening the minds of others to new ideas, or opening my own mind to new ideas I had not yet thought of.

Carolelee - I understand your attachment to horses which I make no argument against. I have owned animals as well, and become attached to them. I don’t see what I have written that could have insulted you regarding this. I understand that not everyone eats animals, nor did I say that everyone did. I also did not group everyone together as you have claimed. My comments were simply: if you eat one type of animal can you say that it is wron

Carolelee - In our culture eating cattle, pork, chicken, fish, and many other animals is customary. Other cultures eat animals such as dog, cat, etc, which may not be customary in our own. What makes eating one animal wrong but another right? I disagree that horses are the backbone of Alberta, rather it is the people who built Alberta into the rich and prosperous province that it is. Would you be adverse to eating oxen which was also used

Clwoods - I disagree, your thread title says nothing about refraining from comment if your views are different, and I disagree with your insistance on refraining. These are free forums for all to submit a topic and for all to comment. I am not required to post a new thread on the same topic just so that I do not polute yours with a counter viewpoint. To do so would be nonsensical and a waste of server space. I posted nothing derogatory or

Sorry clwoods, your thread didn't specify anywhere that you did not want people to comment on thier opinion regarding this issue (i guess had the ridiculous notion that that is what forums were about). I sincerely apologize that my views are different than yours.

Carolelee I am also an Albertian, and I would think the opposite. Many people (at least those I have talked to after reading this) in Alberta support this industry and I believe rightfully so. Horse meat is eaten widely throughout the world, particularly in European. These animals are not mistreated as far as I know, at least no differently than any other domesticated feed animal such as cattle, pigs, sheep, etc. I don't fully understand

It would make sense. The idea of having invites is just a form of viral marketing, the idea of causing a spreading hype over a product. As the hype of Gmail peaks, or at least reaches a predetermined status by google, it would make sense that they would open it up to everyone with the idea of producing a surge of sign-ups.

Persephone3: Riddle 2, I don't see the problem other than the math is wrong. they paid $30 for pizza but the price was $25, supplying the $2 that the delivery boy stole that is 25+2 = $27 which is what they paid for, 3x9=27 not 29. I think you counted the 2 to many times. Accountants would go crazy over the math in that riddle, not a bad one tho.

I have to say, mikro63 is definitely in the right here. After updating and finding that the functionality of his purchased product was now flawed he was obviously and appropiately angry and frustrated as displayed in his first post. After which Frogboy definitely responded with a "your an idiot"-esque reply which is understandable but not necessarly appropriate or advisable when corresponding with a customer, adding further foundation for mikro63's a

I built my first computer 5 years ago and I will never buy a brand name computer again. Not saying that brand names are bad, if your not computer savy its recommended, but the part shopping, picking the exact hardware that you want, and finally the assembly, the inevitable problems and the problem solving is just too much fun. The system customization and component by component upgradablity is well worth it as well. Understandably though, not everyo

Just a suggestion for stardock is to attempt to try and get there progs or wincustomize.com some showcase time on a tech show. One example i could think of is the screensavers or call for help on techtv (call for help is just in canada, we stole Leo Laporte after the original screensavers was overhauled by G4 . Such tv shows often review new or less-heard-of programs

Has anyone heard the proof that girls are evil? We all know that Girls require two things: time and money So: Girls = Time x Money We also know that time is money, i.e: Time = Money Therefore: Girls = Money x Money = (Money)^2 And everyone knows that Money is the root of all evil, ie: Money = sqrt(evil) Making: Girls = sqrt((evil)^2) Therefore we are forced to conclude that: Girls

I would imagine that this is because when you select autostart with windows it just throws the program into the startup list, and since there is only 1 aeroweather.exe widget it only starts 1. My suggestion would be to open aeroweather as an object and save it as aeroweather2.exe having both aeroweather and aeroweather2 load at startup. Actually, you may be able to just copy aeroweather in the widgets folder and name the copy aeroweather2 or

I'm having trouble with icon packager. It seems to be applying new icons to most but not all related files. Here's an example: some favorite links have the url icon changed to the custom, while others still have the original default. I would figure they would both have originally recieved the icon from the same source and so i'm baffled as to why it would be different now. Another common example is the desktop icon, some places i.e.: my quicktask b

Hi, does anyone know of any other good weather rss/xml feed links other than the weather.com link found in most of the weather widgets? Weather.com is pretty good but i live in canada and some of weather.com's reporting is off or sometimes confusing. One of my biggest peevs is reporting snow showers. Whats a snow shower? That could be so many different snow conditions, i.e.: light snow, heavy snow, wet snow, rain turning into snow, freezing rain, sl
