With an issue as critical as "will prevent your computer booting" (I just spent two days with sfc, dism, system restore, and all manner of other stuff before narrowing it down to WindowBlinds) wouldn't it be a good idea to somehow notify customers of this issue? I realise that's a little challenging, but not everyone updates their addon software the instant an update is available while Windows will transparently apply its own updates without your involvement - so people
More or less.
Yes I read that page but wasn't sure if "founded with the backing of Stardock" meant that it was another division. If so then cool, though it would have been a good idea to have mentioned that in the first ever email from them so people know who they are. Also so people realise that when EdgeRunner says "Login with your EdgeRunner account" they actually mean "Lo

Just got an email from "EdgeRunner" about a new Multiplicity version, went to their site and there's one or two mentions of Stardock but seems clear they're a completely different company. Which of course brings me to why it is that they have all my details to be able to contact me - according to Stardock's Privacy Policy they would only have done that if Stardock is at least 51% owner of this company (they live at the same address, so plausible). So,

So out of curiousity, (Stardock) does the whole box qualify as Package or Large Package? What are the dimensions? Because if it only qualifies as Package (Max. length 24", max length, height and depth (thickness) combined 36") which it sounds like it would, then you guys really need to go back to your USPS sales person and get them to give you a realistic rate - the online calculator at usps.com says that's exactly what a person off the street would pay (for Priority Internati

Sooo, I've been trying to get ThinkSync to actually work on my Vista machines. First up, it's not very UAC friendly (it would appear to save shares, but it actually wouldn't - the attempt to save shares.ini was punted to VirtualStore). Second, you can't create sync jobs. Period. Any attempt to do so results in the UI yelling that "You must enter a valid target location share to continue" (even though I DID enter one). It then saves the job to the thinksync.ini file

Aaaand, I just noticed that the retail disc doesn't install Impulse - regardless of what the manual says. Heck, it doesn't even install (or try to install) SDC. Um, it doesn't even add shortcuts anywhere to the game. Meh, I guess I'll just install it manually. Maybe you guys should pass along to whoever makes the SoaSE disc that if the manual says it installs Impulse, it really should do so.
I had to come here to get the Impulse...and I only found this by chance. well at least I have it now...maybe Stardock needs to post the link to the Impulse like Zubaz did, some place - so others, in case they have the same problem like I did...so they can find it to
Actually, you need only install the retail edition of Sins of a Solar Empire. It up and installs Impulse on you (like it or not). Actually, I'm a bit concerned - if Impulse is beta, why is it install

Oh I wouldn't worry. I've had issues with this very same person before, in a completely different forum. Ironically in my case it was FREE software and he was complaining it didn't work right-out-of-the-MSI (which is funny, because he just said that if it were free software he'd expect bugs).

Just to push this to the top, as Neil replied to the other thread saying that updating will solve the problem, but based on the skewed versioning I don't think it will.

Interesting note, the current build of SDC is build 163. Yet the history.txt (accessed by going to Help > History in SDC) has an entry for build 164 which reads "Added manifest to make sure SDC requests admin rights when running with UAC on Vista" and "Fix for an upgrade issue with x64 Vista". The interesting part is that the major version (2.51.512) matches the current build 163 which we're using, not the build 164 that... well, we're not. Are we using the version with the manifest a

Back in the old days (the last SDC release) Stardock Central would demand elevation and wouldn't run without it. Now, it runs without asking for elevation, which makes it pretty pointless since it no longer is able to update or anything. Could we get a [link="http://blogs.msdn.com/nikhiln/archive/2007/04/19/embed-a-manifest-to-make-an-application-elevate-in-vista.aspx"]manifest[/link] deployed with the next release to get it to run elevated again?

Beats me, I assume it's just interference with my wireless network. Which is why I didn't raise any issue with the protocol error itself. I'm just happy that I no longer get bombarded with protocol errors just because my cellphone uses 2.4GHz (well, the error still happens but it no longer tells me about it).

I would like to express my deepest thanks for the best feature in the new Multiplicity versions: "Do not inform me when connections are made and lost" It is beyond awesome that no longer will I have to read, day in and day out, "Multiplicity has disconnected due to a protocol error". So again, THANK YOU!

To add, Seabass is talking about a windowed mode option in Oblivion, not Multiplicity (which, obviously, doesn't have a Windowed mode).

I highly suggest using the locking functionality to prevent it randomly changing screens because you want to scroll - I have to do this on games I play as well (even Stardock's own). On the primary, right click the Multiplicity icon, then on the Switching tab, select "Scroll lock toggles between locked and unlocked". Then, you can just turn on Scroll Lock (which serves no other purpose unless you're gaming on an old WYSE dumb terminal) and it wont switch screens. You'll probably find

I have a very similar issue to this, so would like some word on it. The random disconnects are annoying, having to manually login to the laptop is even more so (although I think that might just be Acer's wireless software) and the random failure of clipboard and file copy between PCs is REALLY annoying.

Most of the additional keys on Microsoft keyboards should be sent to the secondary if the secondary also runs intellitype. The problem with the logitech mouse is unfixable because the logitech software is running on the primary and is checking the active window. It is unaware of what is on the secondary. Ok, so if I install the Logitech
