Object Bar Plus - Downgraded to popup

Always on Top no longer working properly

Hi,

I've just bought ObjDesktop & am very pleased. Everything looks lovely, and after trying Object Dock I decided to upgrade as that was ideal.

Now my "always on top" feature doesn't work the same. Although I can have the object dock "on top" of everything else, windows don't adapt to the fact it's there, and therefore have vitals parts of some programs hidden by it.

Perhaps I've missed some setting somewhere, and if so how can I get the Object Dock to function as a replacement Task Bar? I've tried putting the original task bar back in, but now my task bar settings have change to no longer keep it on top.

I can change this back, but in either configuration, the Object Bar does not prevent maximised windows "slipping behind" it.

"Always on top" is only helpful for me if it can perform in the same manner as the task bar, by effectively reserving a portion of the screen.

At the moment maximised windows all appear "full-screen" rather than merely maximised.

I hope that makes sense.

This has been requested a lot already... no it doesn't do it natively. Some people have managed a workaround using WinFX but it doesn't seem to work for all.

Personally I have the dock set to 'Normal Z Ordering' with 'Use Mouse Activation' checked. That way I can call the dock up over a maximised window if required.

tis one reason I like the free

if set the windows taskbar to always be on top & then use ObjectDock (free) to hide it - when I maximize windows, the window stops where it thinks the task bar is. then all I have to do is set OD to always on top so it expands over the window

I use it with "DesktopX". In settings-Desktop-Work area, I set the bottom to "15". DesktopX uses a lot of resources so I would like to find something else. WinFX is not an option for me as it messes up WB.(When are we going to get an upgrade?) Even with all other options turned off. I had a freeware program for sizing windows but cannot find it now . Google produced some, but they were dead ends.
Took me some time to set it up but it's working great for now. Good luck

Just curious. Are we talking about "ObjectDock" or "ObjectBar"?
ObjectDock does not come with Object Desktop! And your title says ObjectBar.

Yes, i believe we are talking about Oject Dock (I didn't even realize the post said "ObjectBar" lol)

I wish you could allow maximized windows to stop when it touches the ObjectDock, also. But, it isn't supported I've also tried using the dock as a replacement for the start bar, but it doesn't work because i find it much easier to click something on the taskbar to maximize it - instead of clicking a "taskbar" tab on objectdock to see what i have open.

I use tabs for programs only. I use the regular dock for the task. One for start button(With my own custom
icon). One for tray, and one for task tray. I turn the back-ground transparent-Take the icons down to a smaller size, then stop the zoom. Works just like a real taskbar, except no background at all. My tab dock for programs is at the top of my screen. I really like this layout. Try it. lol
