Security vulnarability with Stardock Central

I'd like to know why in the world would you not encrypt the password field in the registry key for Stardock Central.  The password is plainly visible in the registry key and can easily be stolen by anyone executing a registry read function of said key.  Not cool.

Nope. Not me, at least.

Maybe it's the userbase that's causing SD to release weak software huh?

It's also sitting in your email from requests to the server for your account information. Unless you printed it off and then deleted the email and then burned the paper.

We can change the SDC bit.

So this is sitting in my registry? I'll have to format my hard-drive immediately...

I would have thought that the "security vulnerability" would have been the act of having someone able to access your registry itself, not what it contains...

I'm pretty sure once they're there they won't be looking for Stardock info....more likely your Visa account numbers, etc...or maybe the colour of your undies....

Once I get my electron microscope, no hard-drive is safe......

And there are at least 2 other Stardock apps that are going to need to have changes made going forward to deal with that change.
