ETROM: The Astral Essence Coming to TotalGaming.net

Plymouth, MI- (December 22, 2005) – Stardock Corporation announced today that it had reached an agreement to bring ETROM: The Astral Essence, the fast-paced action-RPG from P.M. Studios, to the company’s progressive TotalGaming.net game-distribution service. ETROM: The Astral Essence takes players on a thrilling open-ended adventure to a bleak, futuristic world, where survival is earned, rather than expected. Scheduled for release in February 2006, ETROM will be available at TotalGaming.net for just $29.95.

Developed by P.M. Studios, ETROM: The Astral Essence weaves a story across time and space, full of advanced technology and ancient magic, in which players will battle alongside and against demons, secret divinities, mechs, hovertanks and dragons. ETROM features an extensive character development system, a deep story-driven campaign and striking visuals that bring the developers’ unique universe to life.

"We're very excited to be partnering with Stardock and TotalGaming.net to bring ETROM: The Astral Essence to a worldwide audience," said Fabio Delsanti, Managing Director at P.M. Studios and Lead Designer of ETROM. "They've proven their commitment to providing gamers with a simple, user-friendly method of buying games electronically."

"Stardock is dedicated to bringing high-quality titles to a broad audience, without many of the hassles traditionally associated with electronic distribution services," said Brian Clair, Director of TotalGaming.net. "With products like Galactic Civilizations II: Dread Lords, Space Hack and now ETROM: The Astral Essence, TotalGaming.net offers players great games that are theirs for life."

ETROM: The Astral Essence can now be pre-ordered at TotalGaming.net (http://totalgaming.stardock.com/games/?id=etr).

I don't see a mention of a token cost. Is this an oversight? Considering that the order page lists a 3 token cost, my bets are on "yes."

Looks like three tokens to me. The pattern has generally been one token per ten dollars, so 29.95 would be three tokens.

It's a 3 token game, yes.

I think this is possibly the coolest third party title you guys have secured for TGN to date Definitely plan on grabbing it when it's released.

ah man I just noticed on the page when it's going to be released, feb 27, ouch.  Are there any plans to release the demo of it earlier?

Not sure as yet. There will be a demo for Etrom, but I'm not certain when the developer's planning on releasing it. We'll have it and will announce it asap.

Hi gang,

A new preview has been published of ETROM over at Hooked on Games. It's quite well written.

Still no demo?

Nothing yet. I suspect they've opted to delay the english demo until they've completed tweaking the game for NA release (P.M. Studios released an Italian patch for it a couple weeks ago). Shouldn't be too much longer, though.

Greetings all - Etrom's developer has informed me that the demo will be ready in a couple of days. We'll post it as soon as we can once it's available.

I'm looking forward to this game. I'll be grabbing it if the demo plays as good as it looks.

THe english demo is available from the ETROM home page now. It is 880 MB, so be ready for a large download.

Yup, working on mirroring it locally now as well.

Hi Gang,

I've mirrored the Etrom demo locally. You can find the download button on our Etrom page at:

I'm also working on putting up some Etrom desktop wallpapers for download. They'll be posted in the Screenshots section near the bottom of the page.

It won't be today, as I just got the gold master disc today.  It should be good to go later this week, however (I'm aiming for Thursday).

Phooey, I just got the email that it's released from the ETROM developers and was hoping to see it on Stardock already.
Hmm.. We can get it from Direct2Drive today... What's the holdup, Stardock?
What can I say guys?  I only got the gold master on Monday, but I am on target for a Thursday release right now.

For what it is worth, I will most definitely get this game from you guys. So take your time, just not too long please (I know galciv2 support must be taking so much of your time right now)
I absolutely hate the DRM features that other put in games, and you guys are one of the few publisher/developer that i still respect.

Thanks.

Sokay, I knew you guys were pulling my chain a bit.

We should be good to go for Thursday. Just keep your broadband connections fired up, it's a biggun!

hehe, I'd be lying if I tell you that I dont' want to try the game now. RPGs that show some depth are hard to come by now. While you guys are at it, why don't you guys pick up The Fall: The last day of Gaia; and UFO:Extraterristrials (bad spelling here) too?
If you look around there is definitely a big crowd that would be interested in these more sophisticated and RPG, tactical games.

I know it is wishful thinking on my part here, but I think with the way that you guys operate here, you could really take off by bringing a lot of small name niche games. (instead of trying to compete with things like direct2drive over big name games)

Hmmm, since I am on wishful think streak here, how about you guys also update multiplicity and theme manager? ( yes I am a stardock product addict)
