Let that be a lesson to developers to name their files in English!

Unreq, how did you downgrade to build 120?

So I was watching its progress, and at 57% it suddenly did a count down of seconds and started dwnloading at 0% again.  No log, no warning, nothing.

Corporate Machine downloads fine.  I think Etrom, needs to be broken down into smaller chunks.

The file with the accent mark was fixed on the server late Friday, but if you were already downloading the game, you would have still hit the problem. Unfortunately, Etrom does not break down into modules. If the usual files we use to create modules are removed, the game will crash.

strange that I didn't have any problem with the file name... But i did encounter a problem when installing from the archive. It seems that if the archive of the game is not in the default backup folder the restoration of the archive will not complete...

Is there anyway that when it hits a glitch, and I temporarily lose connection with the server that I don't start all the way back at zero percent.
And by smaller chucks I am not talking about the modules, it is just that when everyother game downloads it is downloading a bunch of different files with then get installed.  However Etrom is just one big file.

CrispyMouse - With the exception of some Stardock games and perhaps modules, you always download just the one .sdc file (unless you're doing an update).  While we could force people to download each file individually, that would only create a bigger problem.

I think the problem you describe (with restarting fresh during a re-logon) is due to an SDC issue (something I've reported myself), so I'll defer to bagginz on that (though it may already be fixed internally).

Alright, I will defer to your knowledge of your own system.  I will definately admit that the only time I paid attention to the downloads where GC2 and GC1 so...
Thanks for the update.  I will continue to try, hoping that I might get somewhere.  At the moment I have it set for only 1 retry so that I can keep the old data in case this issue gets fixed before I complete my download...

CrispyMouse - What version of SDC are you using and what server are you downloading from?

2.30a[b].184 build 121 and I am downloading from Chicago at the moment.  I have tried, California, and 4.

Okay, I'm redownloading it also using the same version off the Chicago server.

I downgraded my SDC by downloading it from the GalCiv 2 downloads area.  I just installed the file over the top of the beta SDC (the same version you have now) and it seemed to work.  I used the Chicago server to get the file - the others were much slower.  Good luck!

Yarlen, I am willing to waiting concerning going back to the older build if you need me for further testing.  At this point a few more hours or even a day won't make that much of a difference

I would recommend going back to the old SDC version for now. I'm working with the developer now to see if we can get this fixed (SDC).

Yeah, it resumes

Think we may have it fixed, but I'm still testing it on our end.  We think it may be due to something that didn't sync properly on the server *crosses fingers*.

Hi gang - Okay, time will tell, but I believe this is now fixed. Please note that if you've been downloading the file from before the fix (around 4pm ET), it may still fail for you. If you're installing fresh now and still run into trouble, please post here in as much detail as possible, what happened. Thanks!
